Mini keg from patrick, shared at SL. Pours a nice light golden orange color, decent head. Ok aroma of some wheat... Taste is a nice summer time wheat ale. Lots of wheat, yeast and light fruitiness to it. Really easy to drink. I wish I would of scored this in the summer time but oh well. Thanks ppimp!
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Foxbush (704) - Richmond, Virginia, USA - OCT 24, 2009
This was purchased at the Caboose in Ashland, Va. I was hoping to make a beer tasting by Troeg’s Brewery. It was rescheduled. I found two beers worthy of tasting. Bell’s has some excellent products. I have had few wheat ales. It is thin and without much spiciness or fruity flavors. It is a disappointing beer. Reviewing the rating the 2009 version may be weaker than in the past. The ale poured with a nice head that stayed with the beer. The color was cloudy yellowish amber.

Pours yellow/amber with little head. A lot of suspended sediment. A bit of a sweet, fruity aroma. Some wheat taste, but malt comes through more in my opinion. A little bland. Some sour aftertaste.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 Sammy (5888) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 20, 2009
Bottle from the brewery. Refreshing, particularly in Indian Summer day. Pleasant malty aroma on a medium yellow body with a lot of white creamy head, that leaves droplets of lace. Creamy mouthfeel, easy drinking above average mouthfeel. Pleasant beverage throughout, wheat well integrated, mild bitterness that finishes a tad sweet from wheat.

The chief indicator that winter has ended in Michigan is the release of Oberon. Simply put, Michigan’s best summer beer. 18-holes of golf and a 5L can wrapped in an ice blanket is as close to a perfect afternoon as one can imagine. Thank-you Bells. Cheers.

Bottle. Had to retry, First bottle seemed old. Decent wheat beer, with slight citrus notes, would prefer over blue moon and that sort but nothing to write home about especially if you get a not fresh bottle.

Batch 8992 thanks to daknole. Pours with a small white head and a hazed golden sunset body. Aroma is sweet with honey and wheat, some rotten orange, tang and light spice. Taste is pretty bland and basic. Some biscuit and light orange. Candied tangerine peel and cereal. It is light and refreshing, but not exciting. Light, watery.
