Great wheat beer. Tastes of sweet orange and lemon peel with a little bit of nutmeg. Very good refreshing beer for the summer time.

Nice mild honey, wheat and orange peel scent, reminiscent of when college boys "fruit" the Blue Moon. Somewhat cloudy with some unfiltered bits floating about, decent head. Flavor has some light hop character, followed by hints of honey, orange and light spice. This beer won’t knock you out of your seat with character, but it does a good job of being accessible yet flavorful. Good for the dog days.

Bells Oberon Ale 3/17/09 (on tap, Yardhouse in FL. Pours very hazy orange with a medium sized head. Aroma is minimal, with light floral notes. Palate is appropriately thick considering the wheat-haze present. Flavor starts with mellow wheat and fruit. Finish has some hop bitterness, but generally ends without leaving much of an impression. Overall, I was underwhelmed by this brew, unable to see much interesting behind a rich wheat body. Perhaps I got a weird tap?

Very easy to drink. Great on a summer evening sitting outside. Great on tap or in a bottle. Citrusy and sweet flavor and smooth.

Bottle. Pours a pale golden with a small frothy white head that diminishes quickly. The aroma is honey citrus and sweet fruit. Decent spotty lacing on the glass. The taste is citrus with a light hop dry finish. Easy to drink, a good wheat ale from bells.

Even Lager Louts will find this drinkable. Light enough for hot weather but goes well with heavy sauces and red meats.

Bottle. Hazy pour. Citrus and lemon on the aroma. Some hop bitters in the aftertaste. Very smooth and wheat flavor straight up. Smooth and a great summer beer.
