Bell’s Oberon is a wheat ale fermented with Bell’s signature house ale yeast, mixing a spicy hop character with mildly fruity aromas. The addition of wheat malt lends a smooth mouthfeel, making it a classic summer beer.

Pours a hazy yellow, this is an old bottle from last july, so I think if this was fresh it would have been a lot better, but got it at a discount, so gave it a try. Definitely tasting the wheat, lemon, citrus, probably missing some hop profile since its so old, but for being this old, its decent, definitely drinkable, I cant in good conscience give this a high rating but I would imagine this would be even better if it was fresh....maybe next year.

Draught. Rich golden yellow color, cloudy appearance, small frothy white head, doughy aroma, low carbonation, toasted malt taste, long finish. Very nice brew.

I was expecting more from this "hoppy wheat"...from the style and the brewer. not deserving of a 98 in style imho. not bad, but nothing stands out - was expecting more bright sunshiny hops, and got a decent American wheat.

A completely acceptable and slightly flavorful American wheat. Slightly fruity, sour and bitter. Notes of orange zest, wheat and grass. This is a great representation of the style: light and refreshing but still complex enough to appreciate.

12 Fl. Oz. Bottle. Poured hazy orange, nice white head but no retention and n o real lacing. Aroma of citrus and wheat. Taste is a little acidic, some alcohol, some floral notes, wheat and yeast. While I’m not that impressed I’m not really disappointed either, nice drinkable beer.

Pleasant mild bread aromas. Hops contribute some citrus flavors. Slight touch of spice - some mild clove. Hazy light to medium amber color; sparse off white head. Mildly sweet; mild bitterness. Light to medium body; slick texture; average carbonation; medium finish with bread, citrus. Overall a pleasant summer brew (a wedge of orange does work well with it), but nothing especially complex or too distinguished.

Bottle. Cloudy, straw-yellow pour with a small frothy head. Leaves some film. Mostly orange peel and hay in the aroma. Flavor is a little sour, mostly citrus and wheat. Good example of the style.

Had this brew at Comerica Park in Detroit. I had heard good things about this brew, and having the Two Hearted Ale in the past, I knew this brewery was quality. Very good refreshing Ale, with a bit of a Hop bite to it. Purchase and you won’t be disappointed. MB
