4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 crazyvin (1536) - New York, USA - DEC 31, 2006
Ah the lucky all sevens rating. poured and opaque amber hue with a thin white head which had okay retention. A nice fruity aroma with nice apricot and peach notes, and some spice. Good malt flavor nice balance between fruit and wheat. Finished with a sweet alcohol taste. Full bodied.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 Rusty (1509) - Mesa, Arizona, USA - JAN 26, 2010
Pours a slightly hazed yellow with a slight brown tinge and a white head. Aroma is wheat, hops, fruits, grass and citrus. Flavor is wheat, juicy citrus, spices. Easy to drink and refreshing and a bit sweet but not too cloying. Nice brew.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 ditmier (1509) - Boise, Idaho, USA - JUL 14, 2010
2010 Bottle Batch 9717 in my hotel room...Pours a hazy golden with a medium white head...aroma is sweet and grainy with a slight bit of citrus, floral hops...flavour is similar, clean and sweet up front that quickly shows some tangerine peel, wheat and that dry noble hop bitternees...pretty tasty...
4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 beermatrix (1497) - Twin Cities, Minnesota, USA - JUN 24, 2003
Color poured a super pale, hazy light yellow, and had a very tight leveled out type of lacing just above the white head. Smells of zesty lemon and some spice, very clean and crispy. Taste is much like Belgian witbeir, very spritzy, lemon is sharply toned with a spicyness mixed in that blended well. It's mostly lemony then anything, imagine a Sprite or 7up with three times the lemon and add some wheat and yeast and wham-o, you've got this Oberon. I've had it in the bottle before, but on tap is so much more yeasty fresh then from the bottle. Super drinkable and highly recommended for quenching thirst on warm to hot days in summer.

Disappointed. Very smooth and easy to drink, but beyond that, not much with a flat, bland aftertaste. I thought I’d never say something bad about Bells. Damn.

The only reason I need to try a beer is to have it sitting in front of me, tempting me with her sublime sensual body. If you tell me she comes from the Bell’s Brewery, I’ll cherish her every quaff of the way and probably ask for another.
Bell’s Oberon Ale, a summer wheat, pours a gorgeous cloudy peachy orange-red and practically lights up my glass. A soft, full head forms at the top of my wheat/hefe glass. She lingers throughout, leaving light rings of brussels lace on the way down. The nose - summer peaches, lemon, soft sweet wheat. Did I mention peaches? Yes, and deliciously tart and sweet at the same time. Hop oils and bite on the top and sides of my tongue, lending a crisp punch to this wheaty summer ale.
An excellent thirst-quenching summer wheat beer from Bell’s. I could easily quaff a couple glasses of Oberon Ale while relaxing on a deserted beach somewhere. Just me, the sand and the surf, and an Oberon Ale in my hand.

This beer and Southern Tier’s Pumking should never be consumed within half an hour of each other. Take it from someone who knows.
