Complex yeast flavor mixes with orange and other spices to create a great summer ale.

Bottle. Crisp, slightly sweet and zesty aroma. Some orange peel, lots of grain and a faint wheat sweetness. Pours cloudy bright orange. Flavor is crisp and refreshing with a touch of wheat sweetness, citrus zest and a grain back bone. Medium bodied. This beer used to be more wheat focused without the harsh graininess, but still is nice on a hot summer day.

UPDATED: MAY 4, 2003 ReRate: This time I noticed more orange citrus flavours which give it the slightly bitter taste that I like a lot, up one on the palate rating.
Orig. Rate: I really like the slight orange tint that shines out of the glass. Well balanced wheat and hop flavours, nice.

Bottle. I ordered this beer at three different bars that all claimed to have it but did not for whatever reason. I didn’t even want it that badly but after getting shut down like I did I HAD to get it. Cloudy golden color with a white head. Wheaty, with some clove and some pear. A bit yeasty, mild citrus. Medium creamy body, refreshing. Thank God, finally an American Wheat worth drinking.

Cloudy yellow appearance, little head. Some citrusy notes in the nose - wheaty, nice. Bitter, burnt hoppy finish. Nice beer, not great though. More of a cult sensation than a phenom.

Hazy pale gold w/ large white head. Wheaty, grainy, mildly spicy aroma. Light, grainy feel. Not particularly complex. Some wheaty malt, light fruit, & grassy hops.

Golden in color. Medium maltiness on the flavor, but nothing particularly strikes me in this beer.

UPDATED: AUG 5, 2008 On tap at Capitol Ale House (Virginia) - a rich, hoppy wheat with bready notes - complex and very nice. Also tried a bottle, thanks to Adrian. The aroma was not the best, but it was well-hopped and a little sweet. Robust and flavorful for the style.
