3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 13/20 NeonLX (258) - USA - JUN 5, 2008
I finally got around to trying this. From a 12-oz. bottle, it pours a cloudy yellow-orange with a middling white head. Nice lacing. Slight hint of citrus in the nose, maybe a bit of hops as well. Very smooth mouthfeel; almost creamy. Subtle tastes of wheat with a hint of lemon in the background, some mild hopping in the finish. To me, the biggest appeal of the beer is its utter smoothness and easy drinkability.

Pale yellow/golden color. Some particles floating in the glass. Not a lot of carbonate bubbles. Frothy head. Aroma of bread, roasty, hoppy. Taste includes some fruity notes, slight bitterness. Aftertaste also slightly bitter.

Bottle at DRB, Miami. It pours cloudy golden yellow, with a foamy white head. The nose is wheat, dough, spice, cardboard and some sweet dried fruit (particularly raisin). The taste is wheat, dough, spice, underlying sweetness, citrus pith, some bitterness and cardboard, with a dry finish. Medium body, fine carbonation and foamy mouth-feel. Fairly straight-forward. A refreshing brew in hot weather.

Cloudy lemon-hued brew. Perfect for a midsummer's night. Lightly effervescent and happily lacking in banana notes.

Draft. This years version seems a little more clear than previous years. Aroma has a lot of citrus and very inviting. The taste is light with some nice spice. Better served with an orange. A great summertime beer and this years version seems better than some of the last few.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20 mmmbeer (1040) - Austin, Texas, USA - MAY 24, 2012
12 oz. bottle (batch 10983) served in shaker- I’m suprised Mickey D’s doesn’t carry this because I saw this beer EVERYWHERE in MI. Served a transparent yellow/straw color, 2mm white head formed but just didn’t lace. Aroma of lemon and wheat and a hint of yeast. Hits the mouth with a light medium body, malt is super wheaty with some lemon and a very tiny note of spice in the middle, finish is complete. Oh lord, stuck in Lodi again...

Light in color and body. Good beer for the hot days. Slightly above a sessionable ale, but close enough. Slight citra or amarillo hop taste. Low on ibu’s. Overall a wonderful beer.

Descent but wheat beers arent my thing. To me the wheat seems to never balance well with other additives. The only wheat beer I have had that comes close to a great balance is Allagashs White beer. Oberon is a refreshing brew. It’s worth a try.

Pours hazy with two fingers of dense white head. Aroma is grass, lemon, spices and... butter? Good bitter/sweet balance on the tongue. Crisp, light and refreshing = great summer brew.
3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 PD4Ever (92) - Kansas City, Missouri, USA - MAY 20, 2012
12oz bottle dated 3/8/12 poured into weizen
Aroma: a funkiness is present, cant tell if its the yeast or something else. grass, earthy, bread and hay. orangepeel, lemon, and coriander.
Appearance: pale yellow color with 1 finger of stark white frothy head that lingered. tons of bubble rising to the surface. first pour of the bottle was very clear however tons of yeast sediment at the bottom of the bottle. This is the most sediment I have seen in a bottle before.
Taste: fairly mild taste. mild sweet, mild sour
Palate: More flavor in the finish that is medium sour and mild bitter. carbonation is average. body is light and texture is slick.
Overall: I like this. At first I wasn’t expecting the funkiness in the aroma but it works well with the taste. Some banana comes through in the taste and palate. I enjoyed this and might pick up another six pack during the summer for some easy drinking. Very light, crisp, and refreshing without being dulled down on flavor.
