An American wheat ale made with European ingredients. Belgium wheat malt and Czech Saaz hops provide a spicy, fruity balance to this seasonal ale. (Formerly known as Solsun)

Very good wheat beer... all around. Fruit beer not my thing, but this works with an orange. Very clean finish, medium body-- not light like some wheats. Very consistent.

Bottle. Color was a cloudy yellow with about two fingers of white head that left a thick lacing around the glass. Aroma was nice it reminded me of the smell of bread dough. You know that sweet yeasty smell that you used to get in the kitchen when your mom or grandma would make fresh bread when you were a kid. The taste is refreshing, tangy but smooth yet filled with hops that just as it hits the back of your tongue fads off into a nice fruity flavor. I really liked this beer it was impressive, I will absolutely be trying more of the beers that bell’s makes.

Pours a nice and hazy gold with a fair amount of creamy head that laces nicely. Smells of citrus rind, orange, lemon and yeast. Tastes as it smells with spice and a little hops and finishes with a dryness. Feels light in the mouth and quenches ones thirst very well. A session beer no doubt and on a summer day this is an oasis.

Although I am usually anti-fruit with beer, this one REQUIRES an orange. If you haven’t had it on a summer day with a fresh slice of orange, it simply doesn’t count. It is a mediocre beer without the orange. But with it, it is fresh, beautiful, continuously drinkable with a nice citric bite to go along with the wheat smoothness.

Very hazy lightly red-tinted golden straw. Strong creamy white head leaves a ring after every sip. Light playful aroma, some banana, slight graininess. Delicate, lightly estery, some fruit and spiciness. Slightly sweet. Finishes dry and crisp, almost too quickly, demanding that you sip again. Could be dangerous as it s a whopping 6% (for how delicate it is). Two words: delicate and drinkable. A great summer beer as it is refreshing but retains complexity.

Appearance: Pours a bright, cloudy amber gold with a very active rising carbonation in the body. You get a fluffy white head that subsides to a silky cap of white froth.

Aroma: Orange zest, honey suckle and spice.

Taste: Spicy fruity goodness including papaya. Finishes with tame yet noticeable hop bitterness.

Mouthfeel: Thick held together with creamy active carbonation.

Overall: A fantastic wheat ale bursting with tons of flavor and character.

UPDATED: AUG 11, 2011 Bottle @ home, courtesy of bushmat1. Thanks Matt! Pretty colorful, yellow orange appearance with a white head. Bready, lemon zesty, moderately wheat malty nose. A touch spicy, quite wheat malty, lemon, citrus fruity flavor that’s pretty refreshing. Solid wheat beer that would probably be great on a hot summer afternoon.
