COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
An American wheat ale made with European ingredients. Belgium wheat malt and Czech Saaz hops provide a spicy, fruity balance to this seasonal ale. (Formerly known as Solsun)

UPDATED: MAY 14, 2006 Good cloudy appearance with little head. Taste is simply wheat. Relatively little complexity. There is no banana on the nose or lasting spiciness like in other wheats I have had. Even as it warms it continues to be one dimensional. Refreshing but nothing to write home about. Re-Rate 5-06 On Tap. This is a very different beer on tap. Bready, full, creamy with light butterscotch sweetness. You can really taste the Saaz in this- nice spicyness. It really comes alive and is quite a refreshing summer wheat. Always a conundrum- do you rate the fossilized bottle version or the vibrant tap. Mine represents a mean.

Slightly murky yellow. Wheat, lemon, and light citrus on the nose. Flavor is bright and sweet lemon with ginger. Balanced sweetness with slight sour from the lemon presence. Quite enjoyable.

UPDATED: OCT 28, 2004 From a bottle (though I’ve had it on tap, too) - It poured a nice autumn gold hue, with tight lacing in the tall head, snd the aroma wasn’t as "banana-esque" as like in my wheat beers. Still, the flavor was good, and I recommend this beer.

Very murky yellow/gold body with a fluffy, thick white head. Lemony hops and bready nose. Very nice, sweet flavor. I’m usually not a wheat fan but this is pretty good. Also aquired from a random trade in Coventry last weekend.

Creamy, yeasty, banana, and light spice. Creamy mouthfeel with citrus, vanilla and banana flavors. Finish is long enough to make this a great summer session beer!

UPDATED: JUL 9, 2005 I was surprized to find out this was a wheat ale, the label not giving away any of the ingredients. This has a righteous hopped aroma with a thick red/tan head, a pleasant bitterness followed by a citric aftertaste. No alcohol flavor, just solid refreshment.

Staple summer drinking in Michigan. Despite all the great Bell’s, this is usually the only one on tap in the Detroit-Metro area. Still, it’s what you need on a summer day.
