COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
An American wheat ale made with European ingredients. Belgium wheat malt and Czech Saaz hops provide a spicy, fruity balance to this seasonal ale. (Formerly known as Solsun)

One of my favorite summer beers. Pours hazy like an unfiltered wheat. Nice balance of fruity flavors with a refreshing finish.

Bottle. Golden pour, little head. Flavor of wheat, citrus, and a hint of bitter finish. For a wheat beer it is awsome, very tasty on this 85 degree day.

Draft at Pinocchio’s into a standard pint glass Poured a hazy lemon gold with a modest white head. Lacing was ample and lasting. and lemon Nose was citrus upfront, especially orange, with some wheat and breay malt obvious as well. Taste started with sweet citrus moderated by malts and finishing with a crisp and pleasing bitterness. Mouthfeel was average for this style, lighter than medium with good carbonation. This was, like everything from Bell’s seems to be, a solid offering I will try again.

This was my gateway craft beer that I started drinking years ago when it was known as Solsun. This is the beer of summer and it still is one of my all time favorite American wheat beers.

Pours a nice golden yellow, like those golden apples. Healthy white head. Aroma had hints of sweet grain mixed with citrus; however, it wasn’t too strong. Taste had mixes of citrus, some spice kick to it, hoppy bittnerness going down, and a bready/grainy texture. Could have been a little thicker and better carbonated. Overall a great beer to kick back with.

Aroma: has a nice balance of clean fruity wheat and mellow noble hops. no grassyness. no spice aromas. Appearance: Clear with some suspended yeast. Not sure what style they are going for but definitely not the classic Belgian or German style. But gorgeous pale golden color. White head the doesn’t stick around long Taste: A nice blend of wheat fruitiness and hop flavor. has some non lasting bitterness that makes it finish dry and crisp. extremely drinkable. Palate: Smooth and a pleasant non lasting buzz from carbonation and bitterness. Wonderful summer session beer.

The definition of summer for me. A classic wheat beer. Perhaps it isn’t the absolute pinnacle of the style but it sure is good. Every part of this beer is reminiscent of the season. The palate and flavor profile is bright, wheaty, and pleasantly citrusy. Citrus is non-contrived and adds plenty to an already nuanced beer. Take the Blue Moon away from your friends and hand them this.

Good looking weizen with snow white head. Grapefruit, citrus, cereal. Good balanced sweetness and bitterness, with the sweetness taking over in the aftertaste. Not the best in its style, but certainly a nice and very easy drinkable one. Tasty replacement for a lager when you need refreshment. ($3,50 in The Top, Gainesville)
