An American wheat ale made with European ingredients. Belgium wheat malt and Czech Saaz hops provide a spicy, fruity balance to this seasonal ale. (Formerly known as Solsun)

Pours cloudy, icy golden, small head, good lacing. Sweet wheat, honey, and sugar aroma. Flavor is intense, sweet wheat malt, orange peel, and sugar. Beer is thin but adhesive.. Flavor starts with a good bite. Finish is mildly flavorful like the beer, short, and good.

Draft: Poured a cloudy golden yellow with a nice head. The aroma was definitely citrus. The flavor was coriander, wheat, lemon and a hint of cucumber. Overall, a very good Wheat...very smooth.

The taste of summer. 12 oz bottle at the Jerusalem Garden, Asheville. This American Wheat beer was a perfect complement to my Middle-Eastern vegetarian platter (falafel, baba ghanoush, tabbouleh, kalamata olives, and hommous with pita). The fruitiness from the weizen yeast perked right up with the Mediterranean spices and the Saaz finish cut right in with the olive oil in the food to make this a quencher. Another stellar offering from Bells!

Bottle. Hazy peach pour with a nice frothy head. Aroma holds really solid balance between nectar fruits including peach and a touch of mango, light spicy and grassy hops, and beautiful wheat and yeast. Flavor has more of that wheat, fruit, and increased hop presence. Absolutely delightful on a beautiful late summer’s day.

Mini keg from patrick, shared at SL. Pours a nice light golden orange color, decent head. Ok aroma of some wheat... Taste is a nice summer time wheat ale. Lots of wheat, yeast and light fruitiness to it. Really easy to drink. I wish I would of scored this in the summer time but oh well. Thanks ppimp!

Glass: weizen Purchased at: Issac Newton’s, Newtown, PA Price: $5.00 Size: 12 fl oz ABV: 6% IBU:n/a Estimated Calories: 160 C RateBeer Rating: 82 Aural: quiet opening, little carbonation, easy pour Aroma 7 out of 10 Intensity: medium Balance: sweet Impression: nice Malt Aroma: whole wheat flour, nut, light caramel Hops Aroma: dust, dirt, grass, coriander, lemon Other Aroma: apple Notes: A very nice aroma - not overpowering, but enjoyable, sweet, demure. Appearance 4 out of 5 Color: amber Clarity: cloudy Head Retention: thin but persistent Lace: poor Notes: A very nice example of an American wit. Good color, nice yeasty cloudiness, like a sunset. Head is present but thin. Flavor 8 out of 10 Intensity: medium Balance: sweet Impression: nice Malt Flavor: wheat, sugar, rye, peanut Hops Flavor: dust, rind, coriander, lemon, orange Other: apple Notes: A very tasty, if light, flavor. What many might call a good lawnmower beer, but by no means a killer beer. Palate 3 out of 5 Mouthfeel Sensation: creamy Body: light Carbonation: faint Finish Length: short Intensity: faint Balance: sweet Notes: A crisp, quick finish is my least favorite part of this beer - it’s refreshing, but with a short lived refreshment. General Impression: 16 out of 20 Craftmanship: very nice. Freshness: fresh Personal Taste: liked. Notes: It was enjoyable, delicious and simple, but many other wits and belgian styles would be my choice when spending $5 on a 12 oz bottle.

Bottle at the Brickskeller in DC. Hazy golden-orange color with a big white head. Aroma is wheat, yeast, and light fruits. Flavor is wheaty with an awesome fruitiness - banana, citrus, and tropical fruit - with some sweet honey. Really tasty. Palate medium-light and creamy. Simply one of the best wheat ales out there.

Pours a golden straw color. Big, long lasting white head. Citrus and fruity to the taste with floral aroma. Very nicely balanced with hops and very drinkable. Microbrew Blue Moon, but better.
