3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 13/20 talleyrand (38) - Minnesota, USA - SEP 26, 2010
Rich, white head. Lots of thick particles floating in the beer which impart a hazy, light amber appearance. Palate feel is full. Taste is somewhat understated, but well balanced. A great beer for sitting on the porch in the summer.
3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 nike (504) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 11, 2011
This is one beer I’m always glad to see come out in the summer. A nice blend of a Belgian and American hops and malts that add quality to this brew. Well balance of sweetness, some citrus, and a little spicy hops. Flavor is of wheat. Good 1st beer when drinking more than one for the evening.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 TJay7481 (78) - Altamonte Springs, Florida, USA - MAY 31, 2011
Pours a nice light gold. Small head. Aromas of citrus fruits and wheat. A light hop flavor followed by citrus notes, orange mainly. Very refreshing. An excellent summertime beer.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 musinj6 (130) - St. Louis, Missouri, USA - APR 28, 2012
Pours a hazy pale golden color with a 1/2 finger head with a little lacing. Bready and toasted malt character with mild floral hops. Lemon orange flavors. Mildly bitter and mildly sour. Full bodied with moderate carbonation. Sticky on the palate. This is a great beer.
3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20 hopasaurus_rex (109) - Surprise, Arizona, USA - MAY 5, 2012
Pours a hazy golden with nice yeast floaties. Little to no head. Very bubbly. Aromas of Belgian yeast, wheat, sweet corn, slight citrus and a touch of lemon peel. Initial taste is sweet, bubbly with a slightly bitter finish. Belgian yeast, wheat, orange, slightly herbal, slightly dusty with a nice hop ending. Mouthfeel is oily but not too bad. Overall this is a solid summer/wheat ale. Easy drinking on a hot day.
3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 julieimagery (97) - Coconut creek, Florida, USA - MAR 23, 2012
Same as the Rogue Juniper Pale Ale, I like it a bit better in flavor but not in smell. Julie doesn’t like at all... of course.
3.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Caytinator (103) - Kaiserslautern, Rhineland-Palatinate, GERMANY - APR 12, 2012
12oz bottle, delicious-looking head and faint floral aroma, great lacing. What summer beer is all about! The hops create a balanced taste, I agree with the "spicyness" in the description. Tastes kind of belgian, but distincly american (IMHO). Prius, eat your heart out at THIS hybrid.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 16/20 RABinVA (83) - Fredericksburg, Virginia, USA - APR 4, 2012
Pours like liquid hay, cloudy and gold. Big banana aroma. Tastes big and buttery but light and fruity. Great beer for a warm day.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 borborygmi (8) - USA - APR 7, 2010 does not count
This years brew seemed lighter in color than last year. More wheat and less hops in the aroma than I remembered. Overall a solid beer, but seemed to have less character than last year.
3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 13/20 swenocha (79) - Franklin, Tennessee, USA - JUN 12, 2010
Not generally my style, but trying to branch out. Glad I did with this one. Bell’s scores again... Beautiful yellow pour. Heavy carb and small white head that gently laces. Lots of suspended, cloudy goodness. Aroma is not very strong... a bit of citrus and malt. Taste is balanced citrus, fruit, sweetness and wheat. Very fizzy and very drinkable. Again, not a wheat beer person, but this is the 2nd one that’s made my must-drink list (Gumballhead is the other)...
