An American wheat ale made with European ingredients. Belgium wheat malt and Czech Saaz hops provide a spicy, fruity balance to this seasonal ale. (Formerly known as Solsun)

This was purchased at the Caboose in Ashland, Va. I was hoping to make a beer tasting by Troeg’s Brewery. It was rescheduled. I found two beers worthy of tasting. Bell’s has some excellent products. I have had few wheat ales. It is thin and without much spiciness or fruity flavors. It is a disappointing beer. Reviewing the rating the 2009 version may be weaker than in the past. The ale poured with a nice head that stayed with the beer. The color was cloudy yellowish amber.

A: Pale cloudy orange body... thick fluffy white head... reduces to a nice film with good lacing.. S: Lots of summer citrus... oranges and lemons.. nice wheat base. T: Well balanced between the orange/lemon citrus flavors and the soft wheat base... M: Smooth. crisp finish. refreshing... O: Overall this is a great drinker... nice and refreshing and a bit different than most wheat beers in that the wheat is muted and oranges are delicate.. today it was in the mid 70s... i just had to have this!

Delivers on its promise, an excellent light and flavorful wheat beer with some fruit sweetness and peppery spice notes.

Hazy amber/gold color; Light to medium slightly creamy body; Aroma of wheat, malt, & citrus; Flavor of wheat, some yeast, grain, honey, and citrus (notably lemon); Finish is slightly tangy; Overall, refreshing - pretty decent wheat brew.

Pours a orange gold with a white head and wheaty aroma. Flavor is of sweet malts and wheat, pretty light tasting, with a dry bitter finish. Nothing too memorable about this brew.

Golden colored with creamy white foamy head. Aroma is yeasty and grassy. Not much flavor, a bit watery but it is a wheat ale. Drinks easily but taste is too flat for me.

Bottle. Deep golden color with an attractive white head. The nose is summery and floral, bright sugars and grassy hops. The taste is moderately sweet with a watery finish. The body’s light and approachable. Overall, OK, not very interesting.

After a nice citrus aroma you get a great creamy wheat taste. Just a beautiful ale to see, smell, and drink!
