Bellís Oberon is a wheat ale fermented with Bellís signature house ale yeast, mixing a spicy hop character with mildly fruity aromas. The addition of wheat malt lends a smooth mouthfeel, making it a classic summer beer.

This wheat ale poured a cloudy, med/light yellow colour with a quickly dissipating head. To the nose there are scents of citrus hops, toast and corn. First sip was somewhat thin but lightly flavourful with flavours of corn, bread and a light citrus hop flavour. Finish was minamily bitter with the hop flavour lingering.

Presentation: 16 oz. can, served in a pint glass. Appearance: Cloudy yellow color with a white, two finger head. Leaves some good lacing. Smell: It has a strong aroma of grains and a hint of lemon peel. Taste: It has a grainy, citrus taste. Nothing spectacular. Mouthfeel: Light, refreshing and easy easy to drink, your typical summer beer. Average carbonation. Overall: Nothing to write home about. It doesnít stand out in any way, but I guess thatís fine for some beers. Itís still nice and refreshing like all the other craft offerings that flood the market during the summer months.

Bottle, 6 months old. Someone left at my party. Donít think I ever had this. Possibly before I started on this site while vacationing in michigan. Either way, never reviewed. Golden orange pour. Aroma is meh american wheat. At least doesnít have the Weiss banana going on. Touch of citrus. Not impressed but wasnít expecting to be.

Bottle from Whole Foods Market, Bowery, New York, NY. A hazy straw coloured pour with a thin white head on top. Wheaty, malty aroma. Tastes similar, wheaty, malty, orange, hint of lemon. Would be quite nice on a hot summers day instead of a cool autumn day.

On tap at Williston Brewing Company. Appearance: 1 finger white head, straw color, lightly cloudy, Aroma: light wheat, light funky fruit, light biscuity malt, all very subtle aromas. Palate: light body, average carbonation, slight dry finish, light bitter finish. Taste: sweet wheat and biscuits into light funk fruit overtones that come in halfway through the taste, and finishing with a light floral bitter. Overall, very complex, super unique, very good balance for the complexity, and not overly complex or forward for the style.

Bottle to tulip Orange rind, caramel, cream, and wheat. It pours a cloudy amber with loads of small, medium, and large particulates and a 2 cm long lasting creamy head. Taste is orange, malt, pepper, and hops. Not surprisingly, very chalky and very creamy too.
