3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
12 oz. brown, longneck bottle. No freshness date seen. Poured out a bright, clear orange color, with a thin white head. Aromas are of toasted malts, Ritz crackers, yeast, earthy hops. Flavors are of roasted malts, dry biscuits, slight hops flavor too.
Medium mouthfeel, OK body.
Decent beer overall. Went down really well after painting my living room today.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a yellowish amber body with a two-fingered head that lasts. It smells of toasted grains and honeyed biscuits. Nice toasted flavor, although a little too much of a caramel taste joins in. Nicely rounded out by a mild herbal bitterness, this is a pretty decent representation of the style, although the brewery misspells Oktoberfest.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Clear amber body with a small beige head. The aroma is light caramel, bread and biscuit with some herbal hops. The flavor is just lightly sweet, lightly bitter with light toffee, bread, vienna, very light tea, clean yeast and herbal hops. Medium/light body is soft with light carbonation and reshreshing, slightly bitter end. Dead on to style. Fantastic o’fest.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a bright fiery orangish amber color with no head. Odd grainy nose with a slight smokey sweet malt. Slightly hoppy roasted malt. Pretty good, but lacking somehow.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft at Capone’s. Medium copper colored with aroma of roasty caramel malt, toffee, slight nuts. Medium palate heft with decent complexity for this style, ofeering taste notes of caramel malt, toffee, slight brown sugar, nuts, and figs.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Copper with a little white head and slight lacing. Very malty aromas of bread, toast, caramel -- savory on the nose. Great texture breaks up the malts on the palate. Nice long, dry finish. Flavors are hay, hazelnut, dry roast coffee, and faint orange citrus. Very complex and great for the change in weather.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours bright golden with a fully receding off-white head. Aroma of sweet nutty malt, bready lager yeast, toffee, and caramel. Taste is rich, with bready malt, and delicious graininess. Mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with lively carbonation. Another excellent brew from Bells.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
pretty run-of-the-mill even for an Oktoberfest. Malty with just a hint of caramel. Kind of wanted more out of this since its Bell’s.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
12 oz. bottle. Poured a strong apricot color with little head. Aroma is much lighter and fruitier than I expected. Mouthfeel is light with sour-ish flavor, much more citrusy than expected. Middle palate is where the malt can be found, but with none of the bready, biscuit-y flavors I’ve tasted in other Octoberfest styles. For Bells, I expected a bit more substance, but would recommend this to my friends who don’t feel ready for a heartier beer. IMO, this beer wouldn’t hold up to the more substantial foods of the season, but might be nice with chips or light apps for the football game.
