A coppery amber lager that showcases a full bodied, malty flavor that is balanced by a refreshing bitterness derived from fine noble hops.

Pours a clear orange amber with a thin, spotty-lacing white head. Sweet toasty caramel and noble bittering hop presence fills the nose. Body starts with nice rich toasty Munich maltiness and sweet caramel flavor toward a balanced, earthy hoppy finish. A nice, authentic tasting Oktoberfest.

Poured a clear orange-amber color. The aroma was fairly sweet with toasty bready notes and a mild fruitiness. The flavor was short with a light finish. Earthy spicy bitterness.

Thanks to goldtwins for sharing. Pale orange beer, thin head. Aroma is unusual, herbal and fairly clean. There is a bit of dirty honeyish aroma. Sweetish aroma, a bit of toast and honey. Unusual and not all that good.

Bottle. Pours a nice clear amber but has very little slightly off-white head. This is one very malty beer, caramel-like. I know that octobest beers are supposed to lean to the malt side, but give me some hops. I would say that it just isn’t my favorite style, and it is not, but there are some octoberfests out there with hops balancing all of that malt.

pours a very bubbly amber with almost no head. the aroma is very mild and the flavor doesn’t offer much more. It has a nice malty finish though. I guess I kind of expected more here. It’s not bad, just not that interesting.

Bell’s is my favorite brewer this side of the country. They hit on all of thier beers but they missed this one. Aroma of caramel malt. Pour was a light brown with a nice one finger off white head. Taste was a little thin...malt and caramel in the front washed down with nice carbonation and a wet sticky feel. Not bad, but there are better.

(Bottle via trade with <A HREF=http://www.ratebeer.com/ViewUser.asp?UserID=3 target=blank>EithCubes, thanks Mike!) Pleasant, malty...Pours fairly clear light burnt orange. Two and a half fingers of amberish biege head, a little rocky. Aroma of bread, vanilla, egg and caramel. Mouthfeel medium-full, about standard for the style. Some droopy, patchy lacing. Flavor is mostly malty - light caramel, egg and vanilla with some notes of pumpkin and light spice perhaps. Touch of bitter in finish. Not bad.

Clear amber body with a thin head. No lacing to speak of :( Mostly malts in the aroma, but some hops linger in the background. Malts and alcohol dominate the initial flavor, hops appear shortly thereafter, and then more malts round out the show. Subtle malty aftertaste, which is actually quite nice. There are better Oktoberfest beers out there, so I doubt I’d spend any more money on this one.

On tap at Thirsty Troll Brewfest

This is one of those beers that you see at the store but don’t really give a second thought. Since every brewery seemed to bring a marzen I decided to try them all. This one was pretty decent. I enjoyed it a little more than most people seem to; it’s not at the top of the style foodchain but not bad either. I’d share a six pack with nonbeer geeks.

Aroma / Appearance - The transparent yellow body was light with minimal carbonation. Wheat, golden puffs, bananas and a hint of hops grace the nose.

Flavor / Palate - The taste of whole grain bread and fruit loops is about all the complexity available. On the other hand one does not expect that much from an octoberfest beer that is middle of the pack. This one is clean, simple and effective. There is no real finish other than a hint of cereal grain.

copper with big head, sweet and fruity and with a long finish that has a little bit of amberalish skunk at the end
