Dark amber with a malt aroma. Minimal foam. Taste is nice but muddled. Malt, caramel and a little biscuit. Unusual finish. Good beer.

Straightforward for the style, with a sweet caramel malt flavor that turns a but thin and watery at the back of the palate, showing an intense lagery dryness, lingering on an unpleasant bitter note.

"surprised at the lower marks...this one is a definite standout in the style. rich inviting aroma before i even poured it. pretty spot in traditional with the style, but much richer and more flavorful than your average Octo. Well done!"

Pours copperish with a small white head. A light malt aroma but just barely and the flavor has a mild malt taste with some light hoppish spice

Nice clear light amber color. Not much head. A light malt/grainy nose. Pretty light in flavor and body. It’s tasty and clean, a bit grainy. But I was hoping for more malt character.

Tap. Clear, dark red. Great head on pour. Mild malty nose. Creamy, full body. A nice malty sweetness balanced with a yeasty bite. Really nice!

On tap at Fraser's. My god. This is just bad. The color should be of concern, as it's far too golden with a splash of the amber waves. There is a little white head and some decent lacing. The aroma has a touch of spice, but it's all lager. Just a lightly metallic lager. The flavor is none too better. There is a minuscule bit of spice on the immediate tongue before fading into a metallicy Molson disaster. No pumpkin, no dominating spices, blah. The mouth feel is moderately like flavored water, and not much thicker. I believe this could be the worst Bells beer I've ever had. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Transfer from BA review on 10-3-12- Served on tap in a 10 oz chalice glass Appearance – Served an amber-orange colored brew with a small white head. The head had a moderate persistence fading over time to give a light level of lacing. Smell – The aroma is bready and toasted malt with some spice and caramel sweetness as well. Rounding out the aroma is a very light orange citrus smell. Taste – The taste begins of a nice lightly toasted malt aroma mixed with some stronger flavors of caramel and spice. As the taste advances it dries some a small amount as some of the caramel dissipates in strength and the roasted bready malts increase. While the caramel fades some a light citrus sweetness comes to the tongue and rounds out the flavor. At the end some lighter hop flavors of a citrus and earthy nature arrive at the tongue to leave a roasted light bitter flavor on the tongue. Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is on the average side with a carbonation level that is on par. Both good for the flavors and drinkability of the brew. Overall – Rather sweet and malty with a great flavor profile and wonderful transitions. Drinkable and quite favorable.

Another solid offering from Bell. A desent white head sits atop a orange amber color beer. Fades quickly but is always present.Aroma is that of spicy hops and mild malt with yeasty bready tones. Biscuit malt taste with hop bitterness at end. Medium body. Very drinkable
