3.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Not much going on with the aroma. The beer carries a very small white head that disappears quickly No noticeable lacing or retention. It displays a beautiful sparkly orange gold color. Taste is excellent. Crisp and clean with a bready lightly sweet taste. Slightly metallic aftertaste. Good carbonation. Medium light body. Overall, it is a light refreshing beer that goes down smooth. A pleasure to drink.

Pours a clear copper on tap with thick white head and good lace. Aroma is slight caramel and bready grain. Taste follows, light and lackluster. Meh.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
A pleasant-enought Octoberfest, not likely to offend nor especially please anyone. A minimally interesting entry from one of Michigan’s great breweries.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Tap: sunburst, rustic orange, muddled throughout with an eggshell layer of foam that sits still somewhere around three millimeters thick. Aroma is a little lackluster, especially for a malty Oktoberfestbier. A hint of sweet caramel, a little toast, and some earthy hops that are hinting at the English type. Not much depth at all. Taste is slightly underwhelming, too. Some more caramel malt, but far lighter and less sweet than I’m looking for. A hint of toasted barley, a touch of grassy and earthy hops with just a faint amount of bittersweet on the back of the tongue. Dry, grainy finish. Not a bad beer by any means, but just a little lacking in some areas.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
12oz bottle. Pours a burnt orange color with a small off white head. Aroma is a lightly sweet maltiness mixed with cooked grains, there is also a little earthy-grassiness. Taste follows the aroma with a gentle malty sweetness that is smooth on the palette and is followed by a nice and light peppery-spicy hoppiness. Medium body, very carbonated and fizzy.
