4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20 MrBunn (2046) - Western, USA - JUN 11, 2011
On tap at Eccentric. So if you asked me what my ideal IPA would be like, it would be an awful lot like this. Clear orange body with a nice bi of head and aromas of oranges, mangoes and pine trees. Flavor closely matches the nose. This is freaking good!!!!!
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 esjaygee (2583) - Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA - JUL 17, 2011
On tap at Eccentric Café. Clear amber with a thin off-white head. Aroma of cat pee, pine, resinous hops, toasted malts and some citrus. Taste is resinous with plenty of pine and some floral and citrusy hops as well. Enough malt to keep it in check with a moderate bitter and dry finish.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20 574deadzone (262) - North Central, Indiana, USA - JUL 5, 2011
Considering this was the winner of Bell’s homebrew contest, I’m impressed. A unique take on the style, and at 8.1%, wow, some beers claim to be double IPAs with not much more gravity than that. I didn’t find this to have over-the-top aromatics per se, but the balance was appreciated and the ABV well disguised. I thought it held up well against the array of offerings at the cafe, so a pat on the back is in order for Oscar’s brewer.
4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 coyotehunter (628) - , Michigan, USA - JUN 24, 2011
On tap at the eccentric cafe. What an absolutely fantastic blend of goodness and pure wonderful loveliness this is. Smells and tastes like a bowl full of citrus fruit and pine needles... Very good blend with the malt. All around exceptional homebrew. Very well done!
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Silphium (2718) - East Lansing, Michigan, USA - JUN 4, 2011
On tap at the Eccentric Cafe. Straw-orange body, thin off-white ring of carbonation. Nose of citrus rind and tropical fruits. Bitter body with abundant tangerine rind. Quite good.
