A refreshing, blond colored pale ale. Bellís pale ale is made almost exclusively from pale malt. It expresses a spicy floral hop aroma and taste.

12 oz bottle into an English pint. The pour is a light coppery gold with a little bit of sediment, probably due to the little bit of age it's got on it. There is a nice white head that fades down, leaving a little bit of spotty lace. The aroma is definitely malty and carries a little bit of fruit. There isn't a whole lot of hoppiness as I'd expect, but it's good to have something a little different. The aroma does seem a little light. The flavor carried a little bit of bitterness on the front end, before fading through a light fruitiness and a good maltiness. There isn't much else there, but it's a pale ale. The mouth feel is quite thin, as expected, with a decent carbonation, but the aftertaste is really quick fading, and lightly bitter ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

I really like this wheat beer. Can taste the bits of pale wheat with some slight spices and citrus fruits. No hops noted in it

From bottle. Pours a cloudy dark golden color with a white head. Faint aroma. Taste is dry and bitter with not much else. Medium mouthfeel on the thin side. I like a lot of the offerings from Bells, but this one doesnít do it for me.

golden in color and flavor, wheaty, with sugar and light red fruit. some hop and a good fuller body to go with the full flavor. the brew has a tang to it yet strangley something seems amiss. weak for a pale and meandering for a blonde.

12 oz bottled over 6 months ago, purchased at Johnís Grocery ($1.79) and poured into a pint glass at home. Orange and hazy appearance with a small off-white head. Aroma of toasted grains, pale malts, floral notes, citrus hops and light spice. Flavor is medium spicy hop bitterness and light toasty malt sweetness. Medium body, crisp and dry with a lingering finish. Eh, itís OK, not too fresh.

Pours a cloudy amber-orange with a quickly dissipating white head. Pale malts dominate with light touches of floral notes, but has a weak aroma in general. It has only a slightly bitter taste with a lighter body. Dry finish devoid of most taste. A decent palate cleanser and pretty refreshing, but nothing special in terms of taste.

Looks great: murky golden, large head, big time crown of lace. English malt aroma: sugary, strange hint of lemon? Itís more English than American. Malt-forward. Itís a dry feel, along with a sweetish flavor. Citrus hops and caramel malts. Itís perfectly pleasant, just isnít what I expect from Bells.

(Midwest backlog 08/2013, thanks to Joel in Traverse City, MI for a great choice of house beer). Smooth, lean and delicate blondish PA, with hints of non-sticky caramel and floral hops. Appropriately runny, drinks easy like the Midwestís true sessioning Pils. Unassuming, but nice to notice Bells is concerned about balance for a 5% brew and I can imagine having Hopslam on your record takes off some pressure off the US hop overdosing imperative.
