1_2many (100), Ohio, USA Jul 5, 2008 Bottle. I liked this more than some others. Citrus hops aroma with a different malt which comes across almost like maple. Sweetness offset nicely by the bitter hops. Has an orange flavor to it. Refreshing. BOLTZ7555 (401), Phoenix, Arizona, USA Jun 29, 2008 Bottle acquired via trade with polomagnifico. This is probably the least inspiring brew I’ve tasted by Bell’s. Where’s the aroma??? Light would be an understatement...just don’t get a lot in the nose. Appearance is lemony with a faint orange glow towards the center. Flavor, something is just not right. Wheaty, spicy, hoppy...they just don’t play well together. Hmmm. changeup45 (504), Orlando, Florida, USA Jun 29, 2008 I enjoyed this one. Different from most other Pale Ales I’ve had. This is a little lighter and more citrusy, making it very refreshing and ideal for the summer. Orange color, thin head and some spotty lacing. Aroma is floral, fruity with malts. The flavor is citrus orange, sweet malts, quite wheaty with faint spicy hops in the background and more towards the finish of the beer. Nice. durhambeer (291), Durham, North Carolina, USA Jun 29, 2008 Bottle. Finally rated this one. Was pretty underwhelmed when I first tried it, but I’ve come around to a point where I really appreciate this beer. It’s not a hop bomb, and that’s why I like it. I think it was too subtle for me at first, but those are often the beers that turn out to be faves, and this is a case in point. Nice bright orange/amber pour. Minimal head. Citrus, mild hops, some sweetness on the nose. Nothing too complex, but that’s not what it’s going for. Crisp and delicious. kieleszd (58), Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA Jun 25, 2008 Pours an opque orange. Balanced hops with a hint of orange. Very similar to Founders infamous pale ale, falls a notch shy. Great partner to a spicy meal.
