Another ale fermented with Montmorency cherries, Poolside is a light bodied wheat ale that blends clove and tart cherry flavors for a summer session beer.

Draught at TJ’s: Faint aroma of wheat, slight bubblegum, yeast, and a hint of cherry. Poured a muddy orange/brown in color with a medium-sized, creamy, dense, tan head that lasted throuhgout. Opaque. Medium to heavily sweet flavor. Tastes of wheat, light bubblegum, yeast, and light sweet cherry. Medium body. Lightly dry texture. Average carbonation. Wheat and cherry finish is sweet.

Served from tap into a standard shaker. Pours a hazy yellow orange with a red hue mixed in with a one finger white head. Maintains excellent lacing throughout. The aroma is comprised of bananas, cherries, and malt. The flavor followed the nose with bananas, cherries, and malt. It was light on the palate with high carbonation. Overall this was a nice refreshing summer brew. It definitely had a robust fruit character to it. Not my favorite style but could probably find myself enjoying a few more of these in the future.

Draft. Stopped in the brewery and had a little sampler of several beers. Pours an opaque reddish tan with a nice little white head. Slight tart cherry aroma w/wheat. The cherry taste is nice which then transfers smoothly to the wheat style backbone. Slight bitter end. Very smooth and drinkable. Medium mouthfeel. Good lace left on the glass.

pint at Tyler’s Apex. Ok aroma, little sour, little fruity, cherry....Clean orange color, good head and lace. sweet and sour flavor. Lite body, creamy mouthfeel, dry clean finish. Well, looked great, aroma got a tad better as warmed, nothing grabbing me with it though....

On tap at the Hopcat for RBSG. Pours golden with a fain red tint. Aroma of estery clove and wheat bread, faint cherries. Flavor is light tart cherries, smooth clove and bready wheat ale base. Pretty nice. Well carbonated, refreshing, easy to drink. I’m pretty surprised by the abv. Pretty good beer.

Eccentric draft @ RBSG. Pours an unclear light pink strawcolor with a small fizzy head. Aroma is light cherry pie with just a hint of fruit acidity. Flavor follows, light cherry pie and acidity, refreshing and drinkable but not really my thing. I’m not a huge fan of the pie-crust flavor, a little too dirty for me, but the cherry flavor is quite nice. Reminds me a bit of Founders cerise but with less cherry and slightly cleaner than theirs.

On tap at Eccentric Cafe. Not a whole lot for cherries. Funky breadyness. Clove and banana. A nice hefe, little bit of dunkelweizen malt character.

On draught at Gallo’s Tap Room. The beer is a murky reddish-orange color with a thin white head that diminishes slowly. Thin rings of lacing. Aroma of wheat, cherries and yeast. Light, clean body with a tart cherry character and flavors of wheat and mild yeast. The finish is fruity with a banana and cherry aftertaste. A somewhat run-of-the mill beer overall.

Pours a cloudy orange-yellow color. Muted aroma, but some clear cherries and clove in the nose. Not overly carbonated, smooth, medium bodied with a lasting finish. Sweet and tart cherries in the flavor. An outstanding summer wheat beer. Full of complexity. Refreshing!

Pours hazy dark orangish with a thin wispy white head. Notes of tart wheat, citric and lightly acidic, cherry, light fruits, pear and sweet bready malt. Medium bodied with lively carbonation.
