Another ale fermented with Montmorency cherries, Poolside is a light bodied wheat ale that blends clove and tart cherry flavors for a summer session beer.

Served on draft at Hopcat in Grand Rapids, and labeled there just as Poolside Pale Wheat. Pours a pale orange color with a medium creamy head. Good head retention . Nice lacing. The aroma is bready and spicy with caramel and faint fruity notes. The taste is tart fruity notes, bread and spice. Medium bodied, Quite tart and fairly interesting beer.

On tap at Caponeís. Poured a cloudy orangish color with a small sized head. Cherries on the subtle side. Lighter ... some grains / wheat, with lighter spice.

On draught at Galloís Tap Room. The beer is a murky reddish-orange color with a thin white head that diminishes slowly. Thin rings of lacing. Aroma of wheat, cherries and yeast. Light, clean body with a tart cherry character and flavors of wheat and mild yeast. The finish is fruity with a banana and cherry aftertaste. A somewhat run-of-the mill beer overall.

355ml can. Pours a light pinkish hue, flavor is oberon with cherries, wheatish, light tartness, not enough cherry for me.

Can. Lactic cherry wheat malt and straw aroma. Cloudy dark amber with nice light tan head. Moderately sweet cherry, milk, toffee malt, and very lightly bitter straw flavor. Good body. Grew on me as I drank more.

DraftÖ RBSG 2010Ö Cloudy golden ale with a mid-sized, creamy, white head. Heavy banana and clove in the bouquet, but no raspberries. Medium to full-bodied with a very creamy mouthfeel and tickling carbonation. The flavor is quite tangy, fruity and sweet. Here is where I really pick up the raspberries. Medium-dry finish.

Not excited for a cherry wheat, per se, but Bells has earned enough cred to give it a shot. Quite nice for what it is - a tart and fruity summer refresher than blends yeast aroma and flavor with tart and lightly sweet cherry quite well.
