A dark ale for all occasions. A blend of dark malt gives this beer flavors of coffee and chocolate with some smokey roasted notes.

Pours dark brown with a nice tan head and lace. Aroma of huge coffee, malt, vanilla, and cognac. Tastes malty, slightly sweet, with a coffee, malt, maple, vanilla, roasty finish. Marvelous complexity and mouthfeel. Well balanced. An excellent porter.

Nice brown color, small tan head that faded quickly leaving a slight lace behind.Mildly malty aroma with a bigger emphasis on some sweet fruit, possibly lemon, and hops come through nicely.Malty flavor with a mild caramel and fruit coming through as well as the hops but there fairly mild. Not a bad brew but i think i could do with a little less fruit flavor and a little more of a stronger malt presence. Thanks go to Nexxus for sending this brew my way.

Bottle pours a deep brown, almost black, small frothish light cream colored head, good lacing, with minor yeasty bits residing on the bottom of the glass.   Sweet aroma, chocolately with some mocha notes.   Immediate chocolate flavor up front, but it quickly gives way to a silky hopiness.   Light burnt malts and the continuance of hops on the finish.   Although I wished the intial flavor to last longer, its still quiet a nice Porter.   Great body, good mouthfeel, rather enjoyable this is.   Thanks goes out to hopsrus for the trade!

A deep brown black with a decent tan head. Coffee, coffee, and coffee for the taste. A nice roasted flavour. A slight hint of hops on the nose. A beautiful beer all around.

UPDATED: MAY 30, 2004 Bottle: Aroma is all coffee and hops. Pours a very darke reddish-brown with a small tan head that leaves nice lacing. You can see light thru it barely when held to the light. Taste is coffee and slight chocolate. Kind of a roasted bitter finish. Definite coffee aftertaste. Really great flavor. As it warms, chocolate flavor intensifies. For someone that’s never been a fan of stouts and porters, it seems my taste is changing quite a bit. I now find beers like this rather enjoyable where as a few years ago I couldn’t stand them.

This porter pours with a very dark brwon body topped by a thin, tan head with a good amount of lacing. The aroma is slightly sweet and malty with slight notes of (what the hell is that?) fruit and weak coffee(?). The flavor is slightly sweet but bitter, roasty and malty. Nice flavor. Full bodied, slightly tingly and slightly warming.

Very dark brown body with an attractive tan foamy head. Leaves a ton of lacing. Has a chocolate aroma with notes of sour milk. Exessive carbonation stings the tongue a bit. Light coffee flavor with what sharp hop/roast bitterness. Woody, smokey aftertaste. A very servicable porter.

really no more than an average beer and not up to par with the quality or outstanding quality of most of the other beers of theirs i've had. a good choice if the surprisingly roasty kalamazoo stout is too much for you, but real seekers of personality must look elsewhere.
