fidelis83 (709), Clinton, Iowa, USA Feb 17, 2009 Pours dark mahogany with a 2-3 finger fluffy reddish tan head. Aroma is chocolate, coffee beans, caramel, lots of roast, toasted grain, grainy malt, a light herbal quality and a touch of smokey char. Flavor is roast, milk chocolate, toasted grain, honey, and light coffee to start. In the middle I find the chocolate qualities becoming more subtle but bitter at the same time adding some dark burnt sugar, this allows the roast and herbal hops to shine, leading into a roast, coffee and char finish. Palate is medium and slightly sticky throughout. Really good stuff. soccer290 (135), Highland Park, Illinois, USA Feb 13, 2009 12 oz bottle. Pours a black opaque color with a half finger high off white head that dissipates quickly. Smells of a little bit of roasted malt, coffee, and chocolate, but is kind of boring. Tastes of roasted coffee beans basically, with subtle chocolate, but it goes down smooth and taste is better than the smell. Overall a good porter. trayns (237), Beverly Hills, Michigan, USA Feb 7, 2009 12oz.. Pours a deep deep brown with little tan head. Great smell to this rich porter. Coffee hints and nice clean crisp finish. nefarious (202), Clarkston, Michigan, USA Feb 3, 2009 Nice dark pour......very nice roasted aroma. the flavor is nice. creamy, smooth, chocolate and subtle coffee. Same on the palate, though a tuch more mellow and finishes very well. Beerdedone (1873), Croydon, Pennsylvania, USA Jan 31, 2009 Bottle. Pours a dark brown with a decent tan head. Aroma of roasted malts, coffee, mild chocolate and a hint of caramel.
