COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A dark ale for all occasions. A blend of dark malt gives this beer flavors of coffee and chocolate with some smokey roasted notes.

Itís like a delicious barbeque in my mouth. Never really liked porters much but hadnít tried one in a while. Unfortunately, I started with Bells and now my expectations are way too high. Hickory goodness.

Bellís always makes a fine beverage. This one was malty and sweet but not too big. I bought it in the little shop in Grand Central Terminal.

12 oz bottle into a pint glass. The pour is a darker brown, with hints of ruby, and a light tan, almost off-white head that fades quickly leaving sporadic lace. The aroma is thin and light, but manages to carry some of the common porter characteristics. There is a light roastyness and a hint of caramel. Maybe a little chocolate, but they are in small, hard to distinguish tones. The flavor is somewhat creamy. Not a lot of domination, and the flavors mimic the aroma, only a little lighter. The mouth feel is thin and watery with an aftertaste that doesn't hang as it seems the taste just falls off of the tongue when the liquid leaves ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Aromas and flavours of dark chocolate, coffee, vanilla, plums and black currants. Nutty and buttery, it is medium-bodied. Reassuring, confy, itís a solid Porter. Very nice.

Bottle. Pours a deep black color with a foamy head that fades. Taste and smells of malt and vanilla chocolate with a light schwartzbier feel. Drinks easy and tasty

Basic coffee and chocolate tastes youíd expect from a porter. Thin and overly carbonated. Generic. After some of the other beers Iíve had from Bells, I expected better.

12oz bottle pours a dark chocolate with a tan head. Aromas of toasty malt, coffee, earthy goodness. Bitter toasted malt and coffee flavor. Delicious!

A really smooth porter. Not too smokey. Not much coffee flavor. Easy to drink and had this one at home. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Nice standard drinkable porter. Subtitle coffee and chocolate. Some roast. Very sessionable

From the bottle. This is a nice enough porter, nothing great. Dark with moderate roast levels. This isnít an American-style hoppy porter, which is fine with me. But it could use a bit more malt richness.
