| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 6, 2008 A dark clear brown porter with a thin light moka head. Aroma of chocolate and brine, coffee and wet dog. In mouth, a light sweet chocolate and bitter chocolate or coffee, a bit short but still a good porter. Tasted Dec. 2006. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 2, 2008 Courtesy of Juart. Pours a very dark brown / black color with a 1 finger light beige fizzy head that is gone after a few seconds. The aroma is chocolate, caramel, a little bit of cherries, and strong coffee. Has a nice dark roasted flavor. A bold coffee with a dry bitterness and just a little bit of sweetness coming through in the background. The body is a nice medium body with some carbonic bite to it. A nice porter. WickerBrew (312), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Sep 2, 2008 This was real good, probably my favorite from the basic line of Bell’s stuff. Dark and strong, but surprisingly drinkable. Thats where it gets its big scores, easy going down for a big roasty porter. A good chalky body too. If it were a few bucks cheaper we would have the big winner. BeerBunker (607), Burbank, Illinois, USA
