12 oz bottle from John’s Grocery. Aroma: Light smell, little bit of chocolate and roasted malt. Appearance: Dark brown to black. Nice tan and carbonated head that went away fast. Left a nice lacy swirl. Flavor: Lots of rich chocolate. Malty and a deep roast. Palate: Light, lingering chocolate roast. Good carbonation. Overall: A great session beer. Very drinkable. Bell’s has done better, but still enjoyable and a solid porter.

Pours black with a small brown head. Roast coffee and malt, not as much mocha/chocolate as some. Earthy and smooth, almost a little creamy. Not as heavy as some either. Very drinkable, best at Bell’s brew pub and beer garden.

Pours a dark brown in color with a nice quarter inch mocha brown head. Looks good. Smell is roasty. Some dark malts and maybe roasted coffee. Taste is more of the roast with a touch of the coffee there as well. A little too much roast coming through. Decent mouthfeel, could be a bit thicker. All in all a solid porter from Bells.

Poured from a 12-oz bottle. Solid porter, but nothing really stood out. Black in color with smell of roasted coffee and chocolate. Taste was consistent with the smell.

Bottle. Dark brown pour with medium-light brown head. Roasty barley and malt on the nose familiar to other Bell’s dark beers. A little chocolate and sour milkiness/creaminess, not as much coffee as expected. I don’t love porters, but this is solid.
