Pours an almost pitch black pour, very opaque. Coca cola-esque substantial head that slowly dissipates. Aromas could be smelled across the room. Chocolate, molasses, coffee, and dark roasted malt notes. Initial taste is a smooth, chocolately brew with some lighter bitter coffee notes. Medium bodied (but lighter than expected) with a wonderful roasted mouthfeel. Balanced well with some milky/lactic sweetness undertones. Great beer and an only possible qualm would be a lighter body that expected. Wonderful. bhensonb (4240), Woodland, California, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jun 9, 2008 Bottle. Aromas of coffee and chocolate. Dark brown/black color with a decent tan head. Near full bodied with creamy carbonation. Indeed there is a smokey note to the malt. Coffee tends to dominate the finish. There seems to be hop bitter. A very good porter. fiver29 (713), Cleveland, Ohio, USA

Looks good with a dark treacle colored body but doesn’t pack a whole lot of flavor into it. Angeloregon (2025), Portland, Oregon, USA

Nose of mild coffee, smoke, chocolate, and sweet malts and hops. Creamy and spicy at once, this beer is a delicious and highly quaffable porter. Finished roasty and nutty but over all just well-balanced. Yum!
