BeerBaron617 (306), Novi, Michigan, USA Apr 17, 2008 Another win from Bell’s. I had this a few weeks ago, and again they have proven themselves as a smart, organized brewery. mcferc4 (55), New Jersey, USA Apr 10, 2008 Great, fluffy brown head. Aroma’s not too strong, but some roasted malts creep through. Heavy roast on the taste, which is really nice. I am picking up some coffee notes as well. Not a very strong body; it’s a bit thin but still much better than a lot of other porters that I’ve had. Lovely bitter finale. Prostman (1077), Pennsylvania, USA Apr 7, 2008 This was a very balanced porter...definitely something that I would come back to again. guyinchicago (516), marengo, Illinois, USA Apr 6, 2008 pours black with nice tan head. taste of cooffee and roasted malts, faint flavs of chocolate and smoke.smooth medium body’ overall a good american porter from an outstanding brewer SirSlarty (68), Reading, Pennsylvania, USA Apr 2, 2008 Very dark, like a porter should be. Thin but oddly frothy, head. Slightly roasted and slightly medicinal scent. Don’t judge this until you drink it! Not medicinal tasting at. Great roasted malt taste and is smooth. surffisher (194), Raleigh, North Carolina, USA Mar 31, 2008 12 oz bottle. Pours opaque brown with an inch-thick chunky creamy head that settles slowly and leaves sticky lace. Roasty malt aroma is reminiscent of coffee grounds (reminds me of Bell’s Java Stout) and a little bit of cola. Flavor is really lively and robust. Lots of black coffee, but not quite as bitter as the Java. Dry, roasty finish. Palate is medium-full; moderately carbonated. Pretty nice roasty, malty porter. gabrielsyme (66), Ohio, USA Mar 28, 2008 Bottle, pours dark, clear brown with medium tan head. Toasted malt taste with slightly bitter finish. Not a very complex taste but a decent beer. jbuzz (658), South Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA Mar 27, 2008 A tasting at Three Cellars Milwaukee. A good Porter not out this world but good. smooth with some very light bitterness and a great color
