fordest (1954), Santee/San Diego, California, USA Dec 6, 2007 GABF. Dark and roasty as I had expected. Nice cofee aromas. More on the flavor. Burnt malt on the finish. Nice keithw (15), USA Dec 4, 2007 12oz Bottle. I’m a fan of this porter. While a bit thin (as noted by other raters), it is very easy to drink and has the roasted, sweet coffee flavor that exemplifies the style. Nice with food, a bit flat on its own. melvin980 (184), Pennsylvania, USA Dec 4, 2007 Pretty good. Smoky and robust. but I am not the biggest fan of porters, but very good for the style. Petrucci914 (574), Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA Nov 22, 2007 Pour a dark brown with a medium tan head. Aroma is roasted malt, hints of coffee, and cardboard. Taste is lightly chocolate and coffee. Rather a thin porter. Meh. Skeegle (476), Maryland, USA Nov 19, 2007 Very sweet porter here. Pours a dark brown with a thin tan head. Roasted toffee and a touch of coffee and perhaps a dark fruit. very good. BlackForestCO (819), Fort Collins, Colorado, USA Nov 18, 2007 Updated: Feb 13, 2009Bottle thanks to artusory. Poured a deep brown color with a thin, light tan head that diminished to a ring. Aroma of roasted malts and coffee. Flavor is much the same, with light hints of cocoa. Smooth and easy drinking, but a bit thin. Simple, decent porter. jde123 (715), Washington, Washington DC, USA Nov 18, 2007 Aroma is quite similar to the appearance of this beer, dark and coffee-like, lot’s of chocolate notes. Diminutive head, with a long flavorful finish. AN enjoyable beer that is in keeping with the Porter style. OSLO (825), Perth, Australia Nov 17, 2007 [Bottle] Pours brown with a decent sized tan head. Aroma is roasted malt, coffee, and a nuttiness that reminds me of Rogue hazelnut brown (albeit much more subdued). Taste is once again chocolate, roasted malt and coffee. Too thin, but quite smooth. Delayed dry finish. Fairly average.
