Picked up a sixer of this for a BJCP training tasting, then realized I hadn’t even rated it myself yet. Here is to the hedonistic scale. Very dark brown, but light does make it through, thin head fades to a ring. Light in appearance for style. Aroma is coffee with some chocolate in the background, nice. Flavor is a great balance of coffee, chocolate, and roast notes, with the faintest hint of spruce on the finish. Light bodied but in no way thin. Tasty.

12 oz. bottle. Pours black with slight red halo. Foamy, airy head, one finger, that disapates to a small frothy rim. Big malt and coffee nose. Coffee, coffee, coffee. Big coffee flavor, touch of sweetness with chocolate, very carbonated. There’s a touch of smoke towards the end. Hop bitterness is a bit astringent, leaving an "hours old black coffee" flavor on the tongue. That’s not a bad thing. A very stylistic brew.

GABF. Dark and roasty as I had expected. Nice cofee aromas. More on the flavor. Burnt malt on the finish. Nice

12oz Bottle. I’m a fan of this porter. While a bit thin (as noted by other raters), it is very easy to drink and has the roasted, sweet coffee flavor that exemplifies the style. Nice with food, a bit flat on its own.

Pretty good. Smoky and robust. but I am not the biggest fan of porters, but very good for the style.

Pour a dark brown with a medium tan head. Aroma is roasted malt, hints of coffee, and cardboard. Taste is lightly chocolate and coffee. Rather a thin porter. Meh.

Very sweet porter here. Pours a dark brown with a thin tan head. Roasted toffee and a touch of coffee and perhaps a dark fruit. very good.

Bottle thanks to artusory. Poured a deep brown color with a thin, light tan head that diminished to a ring. Aroma of roasted malts and coffee. Flavor is much the same, with light hints of cocoa. Smooth and easy drinking, but a bit thin. Simple, decent porter.
