Bells Porter

(bottle) Pours dark brown with an off-white head. Smells of coffee and dark chocolate to begin with, but upon warming more of a milk chocolate element emerges with some roasted malts as well. Taste is ipredominately chocolate and roasted malt, with a nice roasted coffee and light hop bitterness on the finish. A little thin, but not bad.

Bottle. Lightly malted milk and roasted malt aroma. Some creamy nuts (cashew and almond) as well. Pours dark, dark brown with a creamy khaki head. Flavor is dry and lightly bitter with some lightly toasted malt notes. A hint of chocolate and watered down coffee as well. Medium bodied. Finishes with some dry, toasted malt.

10-29-07 bottle. Black with quick head. Subtle roasted aroma. Nice flavor and palate. A bit more creaminess and weight would be nice - but overall very drinkable and enjoyable!

Brown color with medium head. Fairly thin body. Flavor nutty with less roasted malt flavor than expected.

Dark brown to black with good, foamy tan head / Roasty, chocolate nose / Medium body with strong hops and good finish / Smokey, chewy flavors of roast coffee, nuts, chocolate, with sherried dark roast coffee finish / Good and complex.

Pours black with a good tan head. Smell is somooth roasty malt, cream, nuts, and some smokiness as it warms. Taste is creamy, nutty, and smooth roast which starts milder, and takes center stage as it warms as well. A great porter in all. Thanks Greg!

On draft at the Newtown brewfest with the Mad Indian. Pours dark with a decent size khaki colored head. Aroma of roast, chocolate, and coffee. The flavor is sweet dark chocolate, roast, coffee, with a well balanced bitter finish.
