Bottle: Pour is dark brown, I don’t pick up a lot of aroma other than some maltyness, flavor is smokey with a little bit of bitterness, a pretty nice porter.

Dark reddish-brown body, big off-white head, smoky espresso nose. Thin body, brown bread, some coffee and chocolate, moderate sweetness, mild bitterness. Sort of a smooth finish. Not bad, not great.

Another solid effort from Bells but a bit disappointing compared to some of their premium brews. I found the smoky expresso flavor was weak compared to some other porters I’ve had. I noticed a nice touch of caramel in the finish which made the aftertaste quite creamy and pleasant.

Part of my mixed sixer from Chips in Outer Banks, NC. Smokey ash is evident with some nice bitter chocolate malts going on. Coffee-like pour. Somewhat chewy but a bit light for me.
