psuCE03 (122), York, Pennsylvania, USA Mar 13, 2007 Pours a dark opaque brown with a wonderful head. Malty aroma and a nice chocolate coffee flavor. presario (2953), Calgary, Alberta, Canada Mar 10, 2007 Trade with kmweaver. Very dark brown. Faint head. Thick strong coffee aroma. Cold chocolate flavoured coffee taste. Very nice but such a reliable brewer and in a particular style that you may not remember it. xnoxhatex (1305), Grand Rapids/Chicago, Michigan, USA Mar 8, 2007 Has a subtle, sweet, yet distinctly bell’s aroma. Opaque black with white head. Light roastiness with good amount of sweetness. That bell’s aroma that I desicribed is coming out in the taste. Medium bodied, and enjoyable all the way through. gottalottaibu (242), charlotte, North Carolina, USA Mar 6, 2007 dark black with a creamy head. decent lacing. aroma of coffee and roasted malts. very smooth tasting with the flavors being very present but subtle. coffee, chocolate and rasted malt. overall enjoyable. good example of the style and perfect for someone new to porters as its flavorful yet very light and smooth. alexanderj (2213), Chino Hills, California, USA Mar 6, 2007 Bottled; black with a small to medium light brown head. Aroma of roasted malt; some sweet-chocolate, caramel, and alcohol. Good aroma, but too subtle. Palate and mouthfeel were a little on the "light" side for my liking, but not bad or detracting. Flavor of roasted malt, chocolate, black licoriceand caramel; not very bitter, but some hop presence. Good for the style, but not brilliant. haddon90 (1035), Alexandria, Virginia, USA Mar 4, 2007 On draft. Deep dark pour with a decent tan head. Roasted aroma with hints of chocolate and nuts. Not an overpowering flavor, but a mix of roasted malt, chocolate, and possibly caramel? Smooth, easy to drink. Good. realale420 (399), west covina, California, USA Feb 22, 2007 12oz bottle (thanks to the epeeist) poured a nice dark brown color with a small tan head. The aroma was roasty with some chocolate, caramel and a toasted nuttiness. Taste had a big creamy texture with more of the roasted flavores coming through. Some coffee flavor was noticable but not a big part of the beer. Overall I think the Bell’s Stouts stand out more that the Porter, but still a decent example of the style. starfireming (309), Richmond, Virginia, USA Feb 20, 2007 Dark brown body and tan head with a roasty chocolate malt aroma. Rich smokey malt flavour, quite delicious. Mmm mmm good.
