COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A dark ale for all occasions. A blend of dark malt gives this beer flavors of coffee and chocolate with some smokey roasted notes.

Bottle. Aromas of coffee and chocolate. Dark brown/black color with a decent tan head. Near full bodied with creamy carbonation. Indeed there is a smokey note to the malt. Coffee tends to dominate the finish. There seems to be hop bitter. A very good porter.

On cask at the brewery pours a brown color with slight tan head. Aroma is slight coffee and hops. Taste is thin with a smooth taste of chocolate malt and hops. Just an OK brew.

Nothing too special about this porter. Looks good with a dark treacle colored body but doesn’t pack a whole lot of flavor into it.

From a bottle Margaret picked up from Raleigh, NC--Poured a dark brown-black body with a medium whitish top. Nose of mild coffee, smoke, chocolate, and sweet malts and hops. Creamy and spicy at once, this beer is a delicious and highly quaffable porter. Finished roasty and nutty but over all just well-balanced. Yum!

Chocolate and coffee flavoring. This delicious beer reminds me why Bell’s is one of the best breweries in states.

Pours a dark chocolate color with an inch of cream colored head and little retention or lacing. Smells of dark roasted malts. The taste has initial hints of chocolate and coffee, finishing with a moce roasted malt flavor. Great balance in the mouth, good carbonation level, but leaves the mouth a little dry. Excellent beer, but not for sessions. One or two of these and I’m done. Serving type: bottle

Smells nice and fresh. Black and tan. Even aroma of choc espresso with freshness. Taste: smoky malt with espresso choc. Mild chew, proper for porter. Not as over the top fruity as some porters can be.
