Dark fruit notes in the nose. Flavor or mild chocolate and caramel. Realtively smooth finish. Solid offering.

12 oz bottle. It pours black with no head. It has the aromas of chocolate, coffee and tobacco. I really like this beer. It has the flavors of chocolate, coffee, smoke and a roasted flavor. It is complex without being overly complex. Iíd definitely buy this one again.

BOD 8/29/14. Pours almost black. Above average head volume, excellent retention and lacing. Light nose of roast with hints of dark fruit and chocolate. Medium bodied with a nice slick texture that approaches creamy. Above average carbonation with effervescence from the middle on. The flavor profile is of average intensity, a bit complex and is masterfully balanced. It begins with a blend of roast, dark fruit and dark chocolate that reveal themselves in that order. The roast lingers to the middle where it meets a mild hop bitterness. The finish is a slow fade of roast and hop bitterness over a slightly sweet note. A good laid back porter, but not outstanding.

Dark brown with dark tan head. Roasted grain aroma. Roasty chocolate flavors, some bitterness in the the form of dark chocolate flavors. Nice roasty not-to-sweet porter. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

May 2nd, 2013 - Bellís Porter is widely available in San Diego, but a year ago we stumbled across it like some fossil in a dessert. A dusty liquor store ensconced in a likewise dry and dusty LA neighborhood looked like any other corner establishment, but inside was a plethora of riches for every kind of drinker, including wandering beer adventurers, including what would be my first taste of Bellís Porter. The scent is deep and easy to pick, rich with milk chocolate, but with a light, lactic acid edge. A light, sweet squeeze of raspberry complements some smokiness, though everything is kept in moderate, well harmonized balance. This brew really shines when drunk. The palate is foamy yet rich, and absolutely gripping. The flavor isnít as engaged, but well propelled by an incredible mouthfeel, showing off touches of smoked pine needles and chocolate. For a style that I often find boring, this is a porter that keeps the drinker on his toes by palate alone, keeping each sip interesting.

12 fl oz bottle. Pours almost black with a one finger walnut coloured head. Coffee notes very much up front on the nose, with molasses, caramel, and light ash. Medium bodied with bitter coffee notes, light brown sugar, and molasses that leads into more tannic coffee notes, with a little bit of dark maple syrup, light ash, and a very lengthy finish. Very flavourful for a 5.6% porter. If I could make it so, this would be my go to session ale for the cold months.

From cask at jerry?s. Amazing coffee nose. Dark but not overwhelming appearance. Good amount of head, sticks around throughout. Amazing chocolate and coffee flavor. Better at this higher temperature than it would be out of the fridge.

Definitely a porter. A nice light version of stout that is thinner in body but still had good chocolate and coffee flavors. Not bad at all.

Bellís Porter pours a dark plumb, nearly black with a creamy tan brown head that lasts a decent while. The aroma is roasted coffee, chocolate and milk. The flavor is chocolate with a bit of roasted coffee and cream. Overall this is a pretty lovely beer.
