Bells Porter

An opaque brown beer with a small light brown head. The aroma is sweet malty, while the flavor is sweet malty with notes of yeast, chocolate, and hints of coffee.

(Bottle 35,5 cl9 Courtesy of iowaherkey. Clear, reddish brown with a dense and creamy, beige head. Roasted malty aroma. Medium-bodied with lightly sweet hard roasted malt and some fruit. Dry, lightly malt bitter finish. 201008

Bottled. Dark brown. Roasty coffee aroma. Dry and medium bodied. Hoppy. Salty licorice dominates until the really bitter finish.

12 fl oz bottle. Pours deep brown with a small redish/deep amber with a small tan head. Light woody and caramel aroma. Flavour is mild bitter and chocolate malty with a light roasted note. Ends smooth and chocolate flavoured with a vague acidic roasted note.

Black color. Light aroma, some caramel, roasted malt and paperboard. Roasted malt caramel and malt taste; very light coffee presence in the bitter finish. Ordinary.

Dark porter, stoutish in appearance. Serious coffee aroma -- do a blind smell test and you’d have trouble picking out the Starbucks. Flavor is bitter coffee. Between this and the Java Stout, it’s clear Larry likes his coffee almost as much as he likes his beer.
