POurs a nice dark color from the glass with a nice tan head that fades to a thin whispy head in a few minutes. Bland smell, the slightest hint of chocolate after tasting. I didn’t find this to be as impressive as some of the other beers I have been drinking as of late. Good taste overall, I would pick this over some other beers.

Good looking beer. Something off with the flavor I cant put my finger on.

aroma is of coffee and chocolate with roasted malts and nuts. pours black with a tan creamy head. taste is also chocolate and a mocha coffee with roasted malts and nuts. excellent porter

Pours with a nice tan but quickly dissapating head. Very nice aroma of coffee and light hops. Tastes of coffee and caramel, maybe a toffee like flavor also. Nice combination of sweet and malty. It was a little light in the body, but still hearty. An overall very good porter I would recommend to anyone.

Has some good parts to it. Might be a little carby, but not too bad. Very drinkable.

Nice dark color with a small chocolaty head. Aroma is rich roasted coffee. Flavor is coffee with some decent bitterness. While I thought it was on the lighter side of most porters it is still a very good porter

UPDATED: FEB 19, 2008 A porter lite. If there is a refreshing porter this is it. Goes down smooth and just a slight chocolate taste. Update: caramel taste too and some fruit notes. More complex than originally thought.

Wonderful beer, very complex with an unmistakable finish. One of my faves!

A tiny little head and not a very strong smell..of what i do smell is roasted oats, choco and some toast. Extremely dark brown body and a relatively thick pour. Kind of watery and thin..not too much flavor, almost a bit skunky. Could be my bottle. Wish it was heavier.

Aroma is warm and toasty, like a fireplace in January after skiing the Hobacks! The taste is like veggies on the barby -- roasty and not too bitter -- I get red and green peppers and mushrooms.
