3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
A: The pour is a very dark brown with a bit of reddish notes and a thin khaki head.
S: There’s quite a bit of sweetness to the nose. I get caramel and sweet chocolate. The roasted malt and coffee notes are a bit more subdued.
T: As much as the roast is in the background on the nose, it’s surprisingly strong and "featured" on the palate. Lots of roasted malt flavor with a nice bitter chocolate compliment. Some slight caramel sweetness and a bit of an earthy hop flavor.
M: The body is medium with a smooth and almost creamy feel on the tongue. The carbonation is moderate.
D: Not quite an amazing porter, but quite good. Solid in all aspects.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Aromas of coffee and chocolate. Dark brown/black color with a decent tan head. Near full bodied with creamy carbonation. Indeed there is a smokey note to the malt. Coffee tends to dominate the finish. There seems to be hop bitter. A very good porter.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Dark porter, stoutish in appearance. Serious coffee aroma -- do a blind smell test and you’d have trouble picking out the Starbucks. Flavor is bitter coffee. Between this and the Java Stout, it’s clear Larry likes his coffee almost as much as he likes his beer.
