Bottle. Aromas of coffee and chocolate. Dark brown/black color with a decent tan head. Near full bodied with creamy carbonation. Indeed there is a smokey note to the malt. Coffee tends to dominate the finish. There seems to be hop bitter. A very good porter.

(Bottle) Pours a dark brown (almost black) with a large frothy tan head. Aroma of roasted coffee, chcolate, and hints of burnt candy. Medium body with a creamy mouthfeel. Long flavor retention of raosted coffee and chocolate. A yummy treat! Thanks Kevin42!

Dark porter, stoutish in appearance. Serious coffee aroma -- do a blind smell test and you’d have trouble picking out the Starbucks. Flavor is bitter coffee. Between this and the Java Stout, it’s clear Larry likes his coffee almost as much as he likes his beer.

A dark clear brown porter with a thin light moka head. Aroma of chocolate and brine, coffee and wet dog. In mouth, a light sweet chocolate and bitter chocolate or coffee, a bit short but still a good porter. Tasted Dec. 2006.
