12oz bottle-pours a big rich light brown head and black color with red tint. Aroma is mild dark malt-chocolate/molasses. Taste is roasty, dark malt-chocolate/molasses, nice secondary hops bite, some acidity. OK carbonation.

Bottle. Aromas of coffee and chocolate. Dark brown/black color with a decent tan head. Near full bodied with creamy carbonation. Indeed there is a smokey note to the malt. Coffee tends to dominate the finish. There seems to be hop bitter. A very good porter.

A: The pour is a very dark brown with a bit of reddish notes and a thin khaki head. S: There’s quite a bit of sweetness to the nose. I get caramel and sweet chocolate. The roasted malt and coffee notes are a bit more subdued. T: As much as the roast is in the background on the nose, it’s surprisingly strong and "featured" on the palate. Lots of roasted malt flavor with a nice bitter chocolate compliment. Some slight caramel sweetness and a bit of an earthy hop flavor. M: The body is medium with a smooth and almost creamy feel on the tongue. The carbonation is moderate. D: Not quite an amazing porter, but quite good. Solid in all aspects.

Bottled: Red/brown coloured. Light brown head. Dense. Chocolate, sweetness, roast and malt in the aroma. A little vague. Flavour is roasted, sweet and has some malt and chocolate. Is a bit thin bodied. Is sweet and roasty in the end. Thanks Springslicker for trading this.

Thank you Linus_stick/Alan for this one! It’s black/brown with a huge, nice and creamy head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt and a bit of coffee. The flavour has notes of roasted malt, a light bitterness, licorice, coffee, hints of chocolate and a roasted, bitter finish with hints of grapefruit. The overall impression is a somewhat hard roasted beer, that is nice as it is, but it would get a higher score from me, if it were just a wee bit more mellow.

A dark clear brown porter with a thin light moka head. Aroma of chocolate and brine, coffee and wet dog. In mouth, a light sweet chocolate and bitter chocolate or coffee, a bit short but still a good porter. Tasted Dec. 2006.
