A dark ale for all occasions. A blend of dark malt gives this beer flavors of coffee and chocolate with some smokey roasted notes.

Very dark. Very Delicious. Some bitterness to be had with this one, not overwheleming. My personal favorite.

12 oz bottle courtesy of Schroppfy. Pours a black color with a tinge of amber highlights. The head is tan and generous. The aroma was muted, murky and dusty. The flavor chocolate, dark roasted malts and mocha. The mouthfeel was full and creamy. The finish was medium and dry with a bit of lingering walnut flavor. Overall: A very decent, drinkable porter. Recommended.

Big time classic aroma, chocolate, roasted malt, coffee. Palate is rich, oily, with a mocha taste and some hoppy grit. Color is cola with a thin head with some lacing. I just don’t understand the distinction between porter and stout. This is stronger than many stouts I have had and has the hop backing of a traditional stout. But I guess relative to Bell’s stouts, this is a porter weight. Nice balance and good beer.

From bottle. Deep dark black colour with a thin tan lace. Aroma is a lovely mix of chocolate, roasted coffee, toffee and berries. Smooth texture with a flavour of roasted malt. Great porter.

12 oz bottle. Deep brown nice tan head. Clean roasty aroma. I can smell the chocolate and black patent malts. Medium bodied roasty flavor. Not very bitter. Seems to be a beer for the style NAZI, for it is a dead nuts on porter. No flaws, easy to drink, but perhaps difficult to distinguish from any other well made porter.

Color is a dark opaque brown, nearly black, light but deep glowing brown highlights up to the light, a strong pour produced a thin, small tannish head of tight creamy foam, faded fast, some patchy lacing sticks every now and then. Smell is one complexing delicate nose of sourness of fruits, much like lemon-lime and oranges mixed but dulled and kinda dark, very calm, but I can definately detect a sour-like quality. Somewhat like super fresh sourdough bread yeast. I love it, whatever it is. That destinct Bell's quality. Aroma continues into some deeply roasted malts with cocoa hints and hop notes with a very slight coffeeish note as well. The taste is more complexing madness that starts mildly tangy, somewhat dullish fruit and hops, reminded me of mandorine oranges and of oriental salads with sesame, vinegar & soy sauces, but very good and not to sour at all. This is one pleasantly interesting porter. Flavors continue into some slight light and tangy smoothness of roasted malts, subtle in layers, and a really good mix of earthy tangy dryness thats a bit tingly and all in all very luscious and interestingly yummy. The more I drank it the more I absolutley fell in love with it. Feel is a smooth medium body with subtle layers of tangy dryness, damn nice. There seems to be more going on here then I can put a good finger on, but this will be a top pick to keep around at all times.

Great smoky tobacco flavor. Slightly bitter finish. Will definitely get this one again.
