| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jan 19, 2004 Nice and smooth malty porter. Rather dark, but not robust like SN or Anchor. This is milder, sort of like Wild Goose. Creamy, easy drinking and damned nice. RblWthACoz (963), Brooklyn, New York, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Feb 2, 2008 Pours extremely dark - just one step below opaque. Big tan head off a very firm pour, but it falls fast. Mildly roasted nose. Touch of a sweet tone. Malt tones are there for sure. Flavor is hearty with mild roasted tones and pretty thick malt tones. It does have a nice thick consistency to it. Just no outlandish character, or anything remotely strikingly interesting for that matter. Feel is okay. A bit thin on the liquid feel for a stout and also has a less than impacting carbonation. It’s definitely drinkable, and worth trying. It just doesn’t bring anything overly interesting. smith4498 (963), Miami, Florida, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jul 3, 2009 Draft @ Vine & Barley. Pours dark brown with tan head. Roasted malt aroma. Roasty flavor with some chocolate tate to it. Dry and slightly bitter finish. Medium body with average carbonation. MaxPower (961), St. Louis, Missouri, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 19, 2008 12 oz bottle courtesy of Schroppfy. Pours a black color with a tinge of amber highlights. The head is tan and generous. The aroma was muted, murky and dusty. The flavor chocolate, dark roasted malts and mocha. The mouthfeel was full and creamy. The finish was medium and dry with a bit of lingering walnut flavor. Overall: A very decent, drinkable porter. Recommended. biznizness (959), Mooresville, North Carolina, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 8, 2007 Very good, but not the knockout that I was expecting from Bells. Somehow the finish just came up short for me... needed something more bitter I guess. Still, good brew. detroiter (958), Euphoria, Minnesota, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jan 13, 2007 Pours a deep dark brown, topped by just shy of an inch of tan foam. Decent but not spectacular lacing. Nice carmel-chocolate-roasted malty aroma.
Where to start? Its bittersweet chocolate. Its dark, scorched coffee. And roasted grains. But smooo-ooo-oooth. A nice spicy hop bite in the finish. Superb mocha aftertaste.
Medium body, not quite moderate carbonation. tennisjoel (953), Shakopee, Minnesota, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 17, 2006 Bottle. Very impressive when poured. Cascading head/body when poured. High marks given for the appearance. Large head which turns into a large bubbled snow cap. Slowly dissolving, while leaving a nice creamy lace behind. Strong molasses, caramel, and nut aroma with coffee present as well. Flavor is very good. An excellent representation of this style.
