Dark reddish-brown body, big off-white head, smoky espresso nose. Thin body, brown bread, some coffee and chocolate, moderate sweetness, mild bitterness. Sort of a smooth finish. Not bad, not great.

A nice and tasty Porter. Very full body and good taste. Smell of roasted choclate and slightly malted. Taste is dark choclate with hints of maple syrup, and cream soda. Not my favorite style, but a damn good beer.

deep coffee brown, slight beige head. loads of coffee and roast barley in the aroma, and a bitter smooth coffee and malt body are really a balanced mix. excellent porter, but anchor is the standard.

12oz bottle, batch #9022, from total wine in norfolk. pours a dark, chestnut brown with a thin, eggshell head and bubbly lacing. aroma is very nice with roasted coffee, bitter dark chocolate, some vinous fruit, prune, and a hint of ash. flavor is quite good as well with big dark chocolate, roast coffee, smoke, dried fig, nutty trail mix, a hint of berry, and earthy hops on the back end. palate was smooth and medium boded with solid carbonation. overall, solid, sessionable porter.

12oz bottle. Totally black with almost no head, just around the edges. After a rough day, the first sip was instant bliss. Roasty chocolate, coffee aroma that doesn’t come on terribly strong, but lingers in a satisfying way. Looks like "porter" is becoming one of my new favorite styles.

Pour is dark with light tan head. Aroma of smoke, dark malt, and a little bit of coffee. Taste is strong smoke with a very strong burnt flavor. I tasted too much coffee in this one. Otherwise, it was smooth but probably won’t buy again.

Reddish-brown pour with a beige head. Nice roasted aroma. Flavors are well balanced..chocolate, coffee, sweetness, and a dry finish. Hops are present but it is part of the balance. A good beer that I am glad is available again in my area.

Draft at International Beer Garten (Lutz, FL). Pours a clear dark reddish brown color with an ample tan head. Aroma is dominated by roasted malts and coffee. Nice, smooth flavor of coffee followed by bittersweet chocolate and a slight smokiness in a tasty bitter finish. A very enjoyable porter.

Wonderful porter. Coffe and roasted malt on the nose. Dark chocolate and coffee on the tongue. Very pleasing. Medium mouthfeel.
