A dark ale for all occasions. A blend of dark malt gives this beer flavors of coffee and chocolate with some smokey roasted notes.

UPDATED: APR 4, 2015 Pours near black with hints of ruby when held to the light. Finger and a half of khaki creamy looking head that dissipates quickly.Scent is of chocolate and robust coffee with a hint of fruit. No unpleasant odors. Smells warm and inviting.Taste is moderately sweet with a good deal of roasty bitterness just the way a porter should be.Beer is medium bodied and creamy with a pleasant amount of carbonation and long bittersweet finish that reminds me of extra dark chocolate. This is an outstanding beer and one of the worlds great porters. If you are into the darkside and haven?t had Bell?s Porter then you are missing out. I highly recommend this brew.

Dark brown with small beige head. Roasty aromas of coffee and dark chocolate with a little licorice. The taste is smooth and subtle - dark chocolate, licorice and charred meat. Light bodied and very easy drinking. Very solid porter.

Tried at same time as Founder’s porter. Comparatively the Bell’s is not as heavy on the coffee flavor. More chocolate notes than coffee in Bells. Not as strong flavored as Founders, I preferred the Bell’s more.

Dark brown pour. Chocolate, malt, char on the nose. Taste is creamy and balanced...adds a slight licorice taste as well. Just damn good.

Dark brown pour with a slight off white head. Roasted malt nose. Big roasted malt in the taste, some bitterness in the finish (chocolate and char). A bold porter that is quite nice.

Outstanding porter! Deep dark pour w/ a big tan head that leaves nice lacing. The aroma is fairly subtle w/ malt & chocolate. The taste is quite complex despite being pretty light in body. The chocolate, coffee, & lightly smoked notes compliment each other beautifully! It’s not too heavy for a warm summer day but certainly packs the flavor punch! Bravo man!
