UPDATED: JUL 29, 2006 pours black with a chocolaty thick head that dissipates somewhat quickly, aroma is mild coffee-like, tastes light for a porter with notes of dark chocolate and almond, ending with coffee. tingly but smooth mouth.

12 oz bottle, via trade w/ Drnk-McDermott. Pours a dark brown with a 1/2" light brown fluffy head. Left nice lacing. Nose is chocolaty with some roasty notes. Flavor is largely foretold by the aroma: bitter chocolate with light roastyness. Finish is bitter with a mineral quality to it. Fairly light bodied with moderate carbonation. Pretty decent stuff, very clean and drinkable.

Nice dark color with a small chocolaty head. Aroma is rich roasted coffee. Flavor is coffee with some decent bitterness. While I thought it was on the lighter side of most porters it is still a very good porter

UPDATED: MAR 24, 2006 My 400th beer. Pours near black with a thin foamy light brown head. Aroma of chocolate, toffee, grainy malts, brown sugar, and light roast. Taste of sweet caramel, bready malts, light roast and chocolate. Mouthfeel is medium bodied and slick and oily with smooth carbonation. Pretty nice porter, and my last bottle of this rated a 3.2. This beer benefits from being relatively fresh. Nice mouthfeel, a mellow porter that doesn’t disappoint.

(bottle - 12 oz) Black pour with a thin film of tan head. Aroma is pretty sweet with nice notes of caramel and roasted chocolate malts. Taste is sweet and chocolatey with a light coffee bitterness at the end. A little thin, but pretty easy drinking.

Dark brown/black with a little bit of light showing through. Coffee and roasted malt aroma. Nice roasty taste. More coffee. Decent body. Above average but not crazy good.

Bottle shared with Jerc and Hogtown Harry, Harry’s bottle. Dee dark brown/black, coffee like white bubbly head. Subtle aroma, creamy milk chocolate, some coffee roast. Nice creamy, yet carbonated mouthfeel. Decent cold coffee taste - thinnish. Bitterness from coffee beans, not much linger. Decent porter, I was a little let down given how much I enjoy their stouts. Still solid though.

Bottle. Batch 7393. Pours a very dark brown body with red tinges on the edge and a small tan head. The aroma is roasty and full of smooth bitter chocolate with caramel and cookies. Medium carbonation. Sticky chocolate roastiness among some earthy bitterness and dark fruit. Finishes with roasty wafers. A solid porter though not phenomenal in any area.

Pour is a jet black with no head. Aroma is of bitter chocolate with some burnt malt. Flavor is very toasty, roasty and dark chocolate. Very nice and smooth. Another good one by a good brewer.
