Pours a deep ruby- almost pitch black with a fantastic two-finger, creamy, tan head that lasts throughout. Awesome lacing. Aromas of roasted malt, milk chocolate, raisins. Taste is medium bodied with some spicy hops and cocoa . Finish adds a nice touch of bittering hops. Creamy mouthfeel. Aftertaste is muted hops with some milk chocolate. Overall excellent.

I’m might go out on a limb and say that this is one of my favorite porters now. We can’t get it down south, but I was able to snag a bottle while I was in Tampa. The aromas are malty with hints of nuts and dried fruits, such as dates and raisins. The taste is creamy with a nice balance in the carbonation. I’ll definitely pick up another bottle.

Thanks to RBlaszak for sending this bottle as an extra.
The beer pours a dark brown color with a tan head. There are some red highlights at the bottom of the beer. The aroma is classic porter. I get a lot of roasted malt as well as some chocolate and coffee.
The flavor is great. I get roasted malt with a lot of milk and dark chocolate. There is also some coffee, but it is hidden behind the other flavors. There is some bitterness from the malt.
Medium to thick mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

Finally getting around to rating this one. Pours an almost clear very dark brown with thin tan head, minimal lacing. Aroma of roasted malt, slight smoke, coffee, caramel, and slight nuttiness. Flavor matches well and comes together very nicely. One heck of a porter.

A very nice chocolaty beer with notes of peanuts and coffee as well. Very potent hop finish, especially for a Porter. Yet another in a long line of Bells winners I sampled this summer!

UPDATED: OCT 19, 2010 On draft. Pours deep chocolate with a nice tan head. Lacing is moderate. Medium body, creamy, lively, slightly bitter finish with a hint of sweetness. Lots of chocolate and smoky/roastiness on the nose. It’s a good porter, but it’s not a great porter.
