A dark ale for all occasions. A blend of dark malt gives this beer flavors of coffee and chocolate with some smokey roasted notes.

From bottle. Part of a Dayton Beer Tasting July event. Paired with Beer Brined Pork Medallions. Pours nearly black with full finger head. Aroma is coffee and chocolate. Easy drinking and smooth.

12 oz bottle. Pours a dark cola colored with a big fluffy tan head. Milky dark roast on the nose, with coffee, cinnamon, light smoke, and a touch of chocolate. Really smooth taste, as the milkiness blends with the smoky, ashy coffee really well. A beutiful old world pour.

Bottle to chilled glass mug. Pours a murky dark red ruby color which is basically black. Very thin head which has a tan twinge to it, and decent lacing. Tastes of smooth roasted malt.

pours deep brown with a medium tan head...decent lacing. roasty aroma has burnt toffee, bitter espresso, and a hint of milk chocolate. flavor is different than the aroma suggests...still roasty but much more chocolatey and with light coffee and nutty notes. mouthfeel is creamy and silky with a lingering roasty finish that has slight coffee notes. very nice porter.

Drank this beer at a cool temperature out of 12oz bottle. I Immediately recognized a strong smoky flavor followed by mellow coffee and chocolate notes. Aftertaste left me wishing I was eating this with a meal because my palate was somewhat dry feeling. Drawing from little experience with porters this was a very bold but smooth beer.

I can say there wasn’t much I didn’t like about this beer. I f there was anything it would have to be the palate. It didn’t cover my mouth like I wanted it to, the flavor is fantastic. Roasted Coffee and Chocolate just like everyone said, and mmmmm... it is very good!

Nice pour from bottle into Maudite glass. Lasting 1" tan head on very dark brown (near-black) beer. Aroma is very nutty with toasted marshmallow on the edges. Pretty bitter as porters go. Dry, earthy-dirt finish. Stays pretty balanced and drinks nicely. Like the Kalamazoo Stout, it’s really one of the best in its style that I’ve had.
