3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Nearly opaque dark brown body with a lasting tan head. Aroma of chicolate, coffee and cream, and a touch of smoke. Medium palate with a surprising amount of carbonation. Big malty flavor with the chocolate and coffee evident right away. Smooth finish with a slightly bitter coffee aftertaste. A delicious porter.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours an opaque blackish brown with a small tan head. Nose is dark roasted malt with a hint of chocolate. Nice and creamy on the palate with average viscosity. Taste is of dark roasted malts, some coffee and chocolate. Very light on the hops flavor resulting in a very smooth flavor. Pairs well with a corned beef sandwich on rye.

It’s like a delicious barbeque in my mouth. Never really liked porters much but hadn’t tried one in a while. Unfortunately, I started with Bells and now my expectations are way too high. Hickory goodness.

Bell’s always makes a fine beverage. This one was malty and sweet but not too big. I bought it in the little shop in Grand Central Terminal.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
12 oz bottle into a pint glass. The pour is a darker brown, with hints of ruby, and a light tan, almost off-white head that fades quickly leaving sporadic lace. The aroma is thin and light, but manages to carry some of the common porter characteristics. There is a light roastyness and a hint of caramel. Maybe a little chocolate, but they are in small, hard to distinguish tones. The flavor is somewhat creamy. Not a lot of domination, and the flavors mimic the aroma, only a little lighter. The mouth feel is thin and watery with an aftertaste that doesn't hang as it seems the taste just falls off of the tongue when the liquid leaves

Aromas and flavours of dark chocolate, coffee, vanilla, plums and black currants. Nutty and buttery, it is medium-bodied. Reassuring, confy, it’s a solid Porter. Very nice.

Bottle. Pours a deep black color with a foamy head that fades. Taste and smells of malt and vanilla chocolate with a light schwartzbier feel. Drinks easy and tasty

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
Basic coffee and chocolate tastes you’d expect from a porter. Thin and overly carbonated. Generic. After some of the other beers I’ve had from Bells, I expected better.

A really smooth porter. Not too smokey. Not much coffee flavor. Easy to drink and had this one at home.
