UPDATED: AUG 23, 2011 Bottle. Poured a murky dark brown with an average size light brown creamy head and had excellent lacing. The aroma was of burnt chocolate malts, a light pine hop and a leathery yeast with notes of roasted coffee and brown sugar. It tasted slightly bitter-sweet with hints of chocolate and brown sugar from the start, then finished with the flavor having a nice coffee presence at the end. The flavor left lying on the taste buds lasted an average amount of time, and was bold and flavorful.. Mouthfeel was creamy and a tad oily in texture, and medium to full in body with a flat carbonation. Overall a VERY tasty Porter, so smooth going down you just may not want to stop drinking it.

Bottle. Opaque dark brown with spongy beige head, mocha aroma, medium carbonation, coffee beans taste, thin body, abrupt finish. Nice example of a smooth porter.

This porter pours out dark as night with a thin layer of head at the top. I consumed this beer from a pint glass instead of a porter beer glass though. The aroma is a bit smoky and a tad bit acrid as well. The after tasted of this porter is roasted nutty with a chocolate-like finish. This os a less "sweet" porter and more robust and smoky nature.

Bottle. 110 days old. Appearance: Deep brown and opaque with a hint of ruby red. Head is almost non existent. Aroma: Roasted malt dominates over any noticeable yeast of hop aroma. Taste: sweet, highly roasted malt that isn’t acrid or bitter, giving way a well balanced hop bitterness. Pretty straightforward. Mouthfeel: Thin, light body with low carbonation. Bottle seemed flat. Finish: Well balanced, with dry roast that lingers. Overall: Typical roasted malt character of a robust porter, with a surprisingly thin, light body and carbonation. Maybe it was just a flat bottle. Will have to to seek out a fresher version. Otherwise, an average robust porter

Bottle. Pours dark brown, very thin tan lacing. Aroma of roasted chocolate malt. Aroma is enjoyable but a little too mild. Medium sweet taste. Medium-heavy body, smooth texture, finish is crisp, mild sweet and mild bittering. Good porter, not great.

12 oz bottle. It pours black with no head. It has the aromas of chocolate, coffee and tobacco. I really like this beer. It has the flavors of chocolate, coffee, smoke and a roasted flavor. It is complex without being overly complex. I’d definitely buy this one again.

BOD 8/29/14. Pours almost black. Above average head volume, excellent retention and lacing. Light nose of roast with hints of dark fruit and chocolate. Medium bodied with a nice slick texture that approaches creamy. Above average carbonation with effervescence from the middle on. The flavor profile is of average intensity, a bit complex and is masterfully balanced. It begins with a blend of roast, dark fruit and dark chocolate that reveal themselves in that order. The roast lingers to the middle where it meets a mild hop bitterness. The finish is a slow fade of roast and hop bitterness over a slightly sweet note. A good laid back porter, but not outstanding.

Dark brown with dark tan head. Roasted grain aroma. Roasty chocolate flavors, some bitterness in the the form of dark chocolate flavors. Nice roasty not-to-sweet porter. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
