3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Draft on tap at the Eccentric Cafe (Kalamazoo, MI). Pours a deep ruby red hue, darker and well hazed middle. Healthy crimson glow and frothy offwhite pinkish head atop. Dies to a frothy filmy small layer, laces ok. Aromas are touches of red wine, fruit, and some gentle tartness. Raspberry, fruit punch, and gentle spritzy qualities. Initial is a bit lighter, subtle red wine, gentle tannic feel. Some warmth, grapeskin, some gentle warmth. Subtle berryskin, gentle sweetness. Middle is a bit tannic, warm, and fruity. Some red grape, sweetness, touches of fruit punch. Backend is a bit more dry, tannic, smaller body. Some warmth, touches of fruit. A bit odd. Is this a beer? I get the concept and I think it fills that. Ok. Nose is a bit light.
