3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Tap: Amber-ish, copper color with a red-like tint, cloudy but not opaque. A thin khaki film quickly traverses to a collar. Aroma of grapefruit flesh, candied orange peel, sweet caramel malt, a touch of resinous pine needles, & a bit of melon on the back-end. Taste starts with more of the moderate bitter pine & hop oil with melon, grapefruit, & orange peel that comes rushing in mid-palate. Toasted, nearly burnt bready notes with some sweet caramel, dry yeast, & just a mild kiss of spiciness from the rye that hits the palate after the swallow. This is almost more of a red ale & rye ale hybrid than an "IPA", but it was pretty damn tasty nonetheless.

I’m a homebrewer and I have plans to make a beer later that is a hoppy sweet ipa with a hint of rye. Then I went to a bells rap takeover, because let’s face it you can’t just not... And here this is. The beer I dreamed about! Beer is good....
