Tap sampler, Bell’s Eccentric Café, 31/viii/13. Love the insinuation of red IPA = hopped up Irish red ale = IRA, exploding with hops. Juicy round lemonade malts meet leafy elegant c-hops (grapefruit and pine). Slightly dry and metallic mf.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
On draft at Sidetrack. Pours a beautiful ruby color, minimal head, gorgeous lace. The aroma is incredibly citrusy with some hints of malt, pine, and a delectable bit of toffee or caramel. The taste is very citrusy. It fades into a little of the pineyness, and then finishes a bit dry, just as I'd like.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
On tap. Pours a gorgeous deep amber-ruby with a thick creamy khaki head that leaves a nice wall of intricate lace behind. Nose involves familiar hop notes of pine and grapefruit reminiscent of Two Hearted (centennial) and healthy sweet caramel and toffee notes. Somewhat sweet, but much more bitter flavor. Medium-light body, oily, fairly active, with a long piney bitter finish. An excellent brew, as I expected it would be. Just a great marriage of hop qualities and "red" ale malt. Very enjoyable, and I’m so happy I was in the right place at the right time.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at Bells Eccentric Cafe in Kalamazoo.
Basically a red colored IPA. It may have marginally more malts than average, nonetheless, this is a hop forward beer with all of the hop aroma and flavor of a typical American IPA. The quality is not typical but rather clearly above average in virtually all respects. Recommended!

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours a moderately-dark red color with a good off-white head that lasts around for awhile. Good spotty lacing as it eventually falls. The nose hits with hops right away. Good notes of pine start the show off, followed up by some citrus and earthy hops. Good balance between everything. The taste hits hard with the hops as well and adds in a bit of slightly-sweet and bready malt. Mouthfeel is fairly full and pretty bitter in the finish. Drinks quite well.
