Bells Roundhouse. Tap at Maduro pre party. Clear reddish brown with a two finger light beige head good retention. Pine sweaty citrus and some toasty malt. Flavor adds some spicy resin notes, low sweetness, bone dry finish, some alcohol noted, bitterness peaked at a 7. Medium body with light to mod smooth carbonation. 7-5-7-4-14--3.7

Tap at Belmont Station for CBC A: Dark red, swirling near-white head. N: Grapefruit in spades, pine, earth, some orange peel, grass, and dirty diapers. T: Sweet mostly; less bitter than I would have hoped. M: Medium body. Filling, creamy carbonation, no alcohol presence. O: Not a beer in my wheelhouse (though it’s better than Double Mountain’s version.) Malty and sticky if you like that kind of thing, but definitely well made.

Draft @ the source. Dark amber with tan head. Aroma is piney and tropical, with caramel undertones. Hint of spice. Flavor is unabashedly bitter. Dry throughout. The rye lends a kick of dark spice. Real good, but not my favorite ale from Bell’s by a margin.

This one poured a reddish color with an off white head. Aroma was of pineapple and grapefruit. Flavor similar some spicey malt character too.

Caramel, citrus, pine, and subtle pepper on the nose. Clear amber-red with a somewhat lasting off-white head. Dry, some fruity maltiness, light pepper spice, bitter citrus. Medium bodied.

Tap: Amber-ish, copper color with a red-like tint, cloudy but not opaque. A thin khaki film quickly traverses to a collar. Aroma of grapefruit flesh, candied orange peel, sweet caramel malt, a touch of resinous pine needles, & a bit of melon on the back-end. Taste starts with more of the moderate bitter pine & hop oil with melon, grapefruit, & orange peel that comes rushing in mid-palate. Toasted, nearly burnt bready notes with some sweet caramel, dry yeast, & just a mild kiss of spiciness from the rye that hits the palate after the swallow. This is almost more of a red ale & rye ale hybrid than an "IPA", but it was pretty damn tasty nonetheless.
