Tulip on tap at Lackman. Mostly clear dark red color. Thin off-white head, good lace. Bigger body. Good smooth lighter, more crisp carbonation. Good spicy hop, light tropical fruit. Moderate spicy bitterness, light sweetness. Solid imperial red ale. Kind of reminds me of G’Knight. Friends that tried a sip didn’t seem to care for it, though.

Pour on tap, amber orange pour with thin white head, aroma brought notes of slight rye, spice, hints of caramel, toffee, touch of orange peel, grapefruit in there, slight grass as well. Taste is a mix of grass, orange, and grapefruit hops, mixing into yeasty spice, rye, slight earth into caramel, toffee, finishing fairly bitter, slightly dry. Not bad.

Clear dark amber pour with no head. Very sweet citrus and floral juicy hop aroma that’s strong. Very juicy citrus hops, grapefruit flavor mixed with some perfectly blended rye, holy crap wow. Frothy mouthfeel, slightly dry finish. This rye IPA rivals two hearted as a go to bells IPA.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 Cybercat (2449) - Georgia, USA - DEC 21, 2012
Comes out of the tap a semi-transparent mahogany - I didn’t get much head, but that is an artifact of the pour. Aroma is monumentally hoppy, equal parts woody and evergreen, will get any IPA fan’s mouth a-waterin’! Flavor is hoppy, hoppy and hoppy - with a hint of, is that rye? Citrus undertone is equal parts Mandarin orange and grapefruit. Texture has firm body and lots of fizz, leaving a very hoppy and tingly finish. Happy End of the World (not!) everybody!
