4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 coyotehunter (628) - , USA - FEB 20, 2009
On tap 2/17/09 at the Eccentric Cafe. On the board, ’An India Red Ale". Not real sure if its considered the same as an IPA, but in flavor its almost the same with some fruit thrown in. Has a light peach/apple smell, pouring a dark amber with a half-finger head. Flavor is citrus hops, a little pine , and a mystery fruit I cant quite put a finger on, either apricots, or peach. Since they just did an apricot ale, Im going with those. Has a somewhat metallic finish. I wish after having it theyd bottle it.

Draft at eccentric cafe. Lovely, fruity, hoppy aroma. Beautiful, murky, reddish body. Strong hop profile. Yet maltier than your typical ipa, realizing this is a red ale. Very nice brew although better whe. It was a little colder.

UPDATED: FEB 26, 2012 À la pompe au pub: Pin, agrumes avec un malt épicé et beaucoup d’astringence. En bouche c’est très floral et épicé avec une bonne amertume insistante.

On tap at Bell’s Eccentric Cafe. I loved this one! Delicious fruity hops in the nose, with a hint of malt. Deep orange in colour, and very clear. Roasted malt taste, with some nice grassy hops. Good body. A winner; wish it was available in bottles.

Sampled from the tap at the brewpub. Pours an amber Rex with a tan head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has pine hops with some grapefruit and backing bread. Flavor has well balanced grapefruit and pine hops with a grain note that balances the beer.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 Sammy (6113) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - SEP 9, 2011
Enjoyed on tap at the brewery tasting room. Pretty pretty good for the style. A very good hoppy nose. Yellow body surprisingly. Like an IPA with a good malt, and citrus edge. A little acidic. Like a 1.5X IPA in bitterness with malt backing. Above average mouthfeel.

UPDATED: OCT 24, 2011 On tap at Eccentric. Clear amber. Sweet piney nose. Incredible hoppy, piney, citrus, caramely red taste. Chalk this one up in the pool of beers that tick me off b/c Bells doesn’t bottle or growler them.
